Yes, I had it when I was twelve - about 18 months before the vaccine came out. It was awful. I felt completely terrible, and I have a couple of scars on my forehead. My husband does as well.

No. I was part of a vaccine test group when I was a young toddler, though. Afterwards my parents intentionally exposed me when my brothers, cousins, and friends got it, but the worst I ever got was a very mild heat rash that was gone within a few hours.

Yep - my parents took me to a chicken pox party to intentionally expose me and my siblings. I think I was in kindergarten.

Yes, my BFF got it when we were 8 and I remember my mom taking me over so I would get it too. My grandma came over and spoiled me rotton. Then my 3 younger sisters caught it from me. It was a fun summer in our household, lol.

We don't know for sure. My mom deliberately exposed me to it as a kid, but I only got a couple of spots so she was never sure if I really did and it was mild, or maybe those were coincidental big bites or something. But I never got it later, even when kids at school did!

I got chicken pox the day of my 5th birthday. I remember it vividly. I was supposed to have birthday party at school and I to miss it. But apparently I'm not immune to the. Blood tests at the beginning of my pregnancies indicate that I'm still susceptible.

Yup, had if when I was 5. We don't vaccinate against it in the UK so most people I know have had it.

I had it when I was 2. A few kids at my day care had a chicken pox party and I got it from them. My sister caught it from me. DH was vaccinated though he wishes he could have just gotten it before he could remember like me because that was when the vaccine was relatively new.

I had it at 6. It wasn't a big deal. My 2 year old sister had it at the same time and did just fine with at as well.

I had it in 1st grade. We were actually on a trip to Vegas and the first morning we were there I woke up with them.

The varicella vaccine didn't come out until the mid 1990s, which is why most of us Bees never got it.. Both of my LOs received the vaccine.

Yes, in 4th grade. My younger brother didn't get it from me back then. He came down with it in college, and I guess it's more serious as you get older, he ended up being hospitalized.

Surprisingly, no. And I was exposed to it a lot as a kid. I still didn't get it by my early/mid teens, and by then the vax was available, so I got that. Got my booster a few years later and actually just last year had a titer done to check for immunity and its active! Happy about that. I hope this means I never have to deal with shingles.
