@Ash: are you breastfeeding? Do you think you'll be able to get through service and get home without having to do so? I wore a nice dress I bought from Macy's (I took a few hours one night after work to go shopping and spent it trying on dresses) and it worked out well. It still fits now since I bought it when I was, like you, just under pregnancy weight. I also made sure it was re-wearable so I've worn it for 2 weddings and 2 Christmas services since.

My biggest problem was it was not a breastfeeding dress. When we got home, I had to go upstairs so I could strip completely to feed my babe. If you can handle that, I'd say go to a department store and try on a bunch of classic style dresses. Something with coverage for the girls and that comes down to close to your knee. I'm kind of conservative when it comes to church...

I wore a black peplum skirt and a nice tee tucked in with a cardi.

I wore a sweater dress (December) but what about a nice button top with ankle pants if you are more comfortable in pants?

@Ash: I found some at Target of all places that sit a little higher on the waist that help hid the leftover pooch. I love them and get a lot of compliments on them

Find a wrap or faux-wrap dress that has the tie/sash come below your boobs. They are figure flattering and usually have enough drape in the front to cover any pooch. I like 3/4 sleeve ones, but if you find a short sleeve or sleeveless kind, you can just throw a cardigan over it and wear tights/hose if its cold out.

@Ash: If its warm enough, I'd go for a sandal of some kind, maybe with a wedge heel so you're comfortable while carrying baby and talking to people. If its cold, I'd go with nude tights/hose with ballet flats or a round closed-toe pump with a sensible heel (like 2-2.5") or a wedge heel.

This is my favorite (i.e. most comfortable) wedge heel. Its pricey, but it gives you an idea of what I'm talking about - I'm sure tons of retailers have similar styles.
