I have an event coming up at the end of June. It is a dinner banquet and here is what it says for the dress:
"Black and White attire is requested, but this is not a formal Black and White, no long gowns or tuxedo."

I'd check out White House Black Market - it sounds like most of the dresses from that store are perfect for that event!
I'd also consider metallic shoes, depending on the dress.

I'd do a black and white floral dress, i feel like you can find those everywhere...I have one hanging in my closet that I got at Banana Republic last fall.
