Was thinking about this the other day, and my very closest friends are all from college!
I have made some good friends in the past few years too though, and they are all people who lived near me (that I saw regularly). Then one day things clicked, and we started hanging out a lot more. Which isn't so different from college... all my closest friends were either roommates, or lived in the same dorm as me.

Middle school and high school. I didn't meet many people in college, but I did meet my husband.

My closest friends are from college. I still keep in touch with a few high school friends but we aren't as close.

I met my very best friend in kindergarten. We grew up together and then were roommates in college. My other close friends are from high school, college, and church.

All over the place... Elementary, middle school, high school, 2 colleges, one on Pinterest, one sold me shoes at Nordstrom, I've met a few other photographers over the years. Mostly I've become closer with people I have been friends with in the past since I got pregnant- so reconnecting with other Moms. I am on the older side in my area to have my first child. I have 2 'best' friends and about 10 close friends that I see 1-2 times a month.

High school and college. Although, I have developed some close relationships with playdate moms, but it's not quite the same since we all have families and can't get together spontaneously like I could in my single days.

Mostly college, and through DH, but I'm meeting up with an old high school friend tomorrow and I'm really excited to see her! It's cool that we've been able to remain in touch from getting our drivers licenses to having kiddos. I think it's so cool that some of you still are close with friends from early childhood!
ETA: ohhh and through work! Some of my besties are from my old job. It's how I met DH too

My two closest friends are from grade school and high school.
My more recent close friends were met through DS (parent's of his friends), and coincidentally, also went to my HS (although we weren't friends then)

My three closest friends - one I've known since birth, one I met in university, and one I met online on a posting board! In general my closest friends are either from university or the internet, and one woman I used to work with.

I met my two closest friends through DH! They were dating his friends when he and I first got together. Even though one of them is no longer with DH's friend, the three of us are still super close.

College! I read somewhere a study showing that your odds of making close friends decline substantially after your early 20s. It's a bit depressing actually, especially since none of my college friends live in the same town anymore...That said, I remember my grandparents making new close friends in their 70s, so I guess it's not hopeless!

My closest groups of friends are either from church, or my college group. We all live in diff states though, but chat daily.

All from elementary school. I made some good friends from college, but since I moved abroad, it's all but fizzled out. Without having family ties (which my elementary school friends and I have a.k.a. we all know each other's families or godparents for each other's kids) it's just really difficult to stay in touch.

My closest friend and I met at summer camp in 8th grade my other close friends kind of vary-- my circle moves a lot and I'm not great at keeping in touch consistently, it's more like if we're in the same place we pick up where we left off. Those friends are mostly from grad school or from in between grad school and undergrad. I'm not close to anyone else but my bff from home, and not as close to college friends anymore either as I used to be

My closest friends are from preschool, elementary school and middle school. We stayed friends throughout high school and college. I was 4 years old when I met my one friend in preschool and I'm now 28 and we are still close!

I would say that I have about 3-4 close friends. I met my good friend in college, and the rest I met while teaching!
