We sleep in one bed and bring one of his favorite blankets. We don’t use a sound machine, but at home his air purifier provides white noise. No issues with my LO falling asleep in a different environment.

We put the pack n play in the bathroom. We probably scarred him for life but it was the only way we all got good sleep.

@cake2017: Right, it's always a little bit of an adjustment. It will probably one of those things that you worry about and the babe does just fine!
@BadgerMom: lol, thats a good idea tho!! We adopted my sister from Peru when she was 2.5 and like 2 months later we went to Key West on vacation. We were tight on space so we stuck her in a big closet- it was carpeted and comfy (but not a walk-in).. and we made her a bed and she was perfectly happy. Ha!

@BadgerMom: we’ve done the bathroom several times. It works pretty well and teaches you how to be a ninja at the same time.

Our son was older but we did our same bedtime routine and he was in a cot in the same room. We turned out the lights and ‘went to bed’ ourselves beside him. We pretended to sleep even if he called for us or wanted to sit up and play. When he fell asleep, we broke out the iPad which we had downloaded a movie on prior to the trip, plugged in headphones and watched with a pile of pillows next to us so he couldn’t see the brightness. It was totally fine!

We had an emergency where we had to stay in a hotel when DD was 10 mo old. When we checked in, I asked if there way any suites available, so that the baby could have a separate room - no thing was available with a separate room, but they ended up upgrading us to a much larger room, which wrapped around a corner. So we put DD in her pnp in that corner that was the darkest, with her sound machine near by. Then DH and I snuggled under the covers with headphones and the ipad.
Also, this room was at the end of the hall next to the gym with no other 'neighbors' which helped because I could let DD cry a little without being worried about waking other people.

I have also heard great success with putting baby in the bathroom, but I was afraid of having to go in the middle of the night! plus I had to wake up early to shower, so in this instance it didn't work.

Could you call the hotel and talk to them about their rooms? Explain your situation and perhaps they can help you out.

There seems to be a lot of success stories so I'll be the downer. At that age, DS was hell in hotels. We even had to leave one around 4am because he didn't stop screaming and the hotel was getting complaints. We tried everything- bathroom, in our bed, holding him etc. Hopefully your LO isn't like him!
At 2.5 he now is fine with sleeping in a pack n play in a hotel..... but my now one year old isn't having it. Thankfully she is ok with sleeping with us. So maybe also try that?

in our travel crib tucked in a corner. we travel with a noise machine. if we don't have space for a separate one, we use the noise box app on our iphones.

Just mimic everything from home! We usually would put to bed with noise as usual (ideally in a little crib if the hotel had one instead of pack n play) and go outside to the balcony if we didn’t have a separate room.

Since having two kids, my son is older and we’ve been fine with him in a bed beside us (separate beds) on two recent trips. My daughter in the bathroom with the fan on/ door open.
It works well when there is a balcony!

We just did one night in the city recently and everyone did well but there was no balcony so once the kids went to bed we had to be pretty quiet. Much nicer when there’s a balcony to escape to for a drink, or a separate room.

ETA: my son is 4 and has never slept with us so for us that wasn’t even a viable option to try on vacation when we wanted to be well rested/busy.

Honestly, it's whatever works and survival mode at hotels. Between my 3 kids and their widely different sleep habits, we have done many different things. What works well at 15 months was to put them in the carrier and just bounce in the corner. Then we would move them to the bed or travel crib. I've even strolled the halls/outside in a stroller until they have fallen asleep.

@cake2017: he slept the worst in new places from 12-24 months. That particular situation was when he was 17mo. When he hit two, I think he understood more and it was less scary. Good luck! I hope your baby is like all the other comments and not like mine
