4 was pretty good for us! I think for us the difference between 2,3,4 has been that the outbursts, tantrums, disobeying lessens but they can be more extreme. Its also more frustrating as a parent because you know they know better.

My 5 yo has always been a pretty easy kid. He definitely has his moments, but I feel like he has become easier over time. The worst part of 5 is his know-it-all attitude sometimes.

I'm really leery of getting to the threenager stage with my current 2yo, she has a very different personality than her big bro!

I think DD has become easier over time too, after the age of 2... so 3, 4, and 5 have all been better and better. She is so sweet and thoughtful, but she does have her moments where she thinks she knows everything, and I feel like I'm constantly having to repeat myself to get her to listen because she thinks of herself as such a big girl now and can do it all. I hear, "I know, mommy, I know" a lot! I find 5 a little bittersweet because it almost feels like we're leaving childhood behind.

5 so far has been much, much better than 3 and 4 from a tantrum and pushing limits perspective, but now, the social and emotional development is stressing me out...you know, hearing things like "so and so was ignoring me" and "no one wanted to play with me." It's not so easy to problem solve any more!

@Mrs. High Heels: LO will still say "I know" once in a rare moment but I taught her instead to say "Yes, I agree", "That's true", and "I got it." I'm hoping this will give her a better disposition starting from her words and moving to the heart.
