I had almost all the same issues with my DS and I was feeling the exact same way for about 2 months. But then it just slowly got better and I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Hang in there! My DS is 4 months now and I am already thinking about another one, but we'll hopefully wait at least a year before trying again.

Birth is painful (obviously) and my first LO was a relatively hard baby at times (I know it could have been worse but I know it also could have been way easier). I think we were sure we wanted another maybe around 1-1.5 years and I got pregnant when she was 2.5.

I had a fairly easy newborn and I still wasn't ready when she was two. Hang in there! It's still so early.

With DS, he started STTN at 9 mos and I was ready to start trying when he turned 1. DD is 16 mos and still not STTN (and we aren't sure we want another) but I can't imagine feeling ready for another for a long time. For me, sleep is huge.

It's so very early. LO was not an easy newborn, but I would say she mellowed out about at 4 months and was the greatest older baby (7-12 months).

7 weeks.. You are still in the trenches! I think 6+ months it just starts to get easier. For us DD STTN on her won around 8 months so that was a game changer! We also weaned at 9 months, while I didn't want to, it was also another thing off my shoulders.

DS was a hard newborn. He is now 8 months, is sooo much better, and only wakes once at night. We are still not ready. Those painful memories have not faded.

DD is 11 mo and I'm nowhere near ready.

We really struggled the first 10 weeks. DD will be six months in two days and I was trying to talk OH into ttc last night adter I realized I was ovulating.

I think sleep is a major factor, as @bushelandapeck: mentioned.
With DS1, I was ready at a year. With DS2, he's only 6m and I'm ready (DH is not quite yet lol).

2+ years. We also had colic, reflux, MSPI, no sleep, and PPD. Right around her 2nd birthday I started to feel ready. LO will be 3.5 when LO2 is born.

I didn't have as severe of the issues you guys have but we did have some reflux. And he was generally sort of hard to please. And I just didn't adjust well to motherhood at first. Might have been PPD, I'm still not sure. But we are at 17 months in (today!) and some days I want another (mostly for my sons benefit) but most days I still feel one and done. I grapple with it daily. My husband wanted to start IVF again at 6 months PP. Um, no. But the fact that he does want another also sways me.
If you felt strongly before that you wanted 2 or more I bet you'll come around. I never felt firmly about it, which is why I probably still don't feel strongly one way or another.
I am terrified of the newborn stage again. And life feels easy now with just one. (That I can almost guarantee! You may not want another, but your one difficult baby will become much easier and you'll have a hard time remembering the hard times. You'll just remember that it was hard!)ETA: I didn't mention that for the first 8 months for sure I was like "f@*k no, why would I do that to myself?" When people asked if we were having another. It took me a loooong time to understand how people had more than 1. So the fact that some days I entertain the thought of another is a lot of progress.

I think we had a fairly easy newborn, but I still didn't even think I wanted another until well after he turned two. I think you really have to get through all of that to realize that you can make it out alive and do it all again. And I agree with @SweetiePie: , I think a lot of the details get foggy and you mostly remember the good times. I am sure that has something to do with our biological need to procreate and our brain just plays tricks on us.
Just wait until you feel ready and it feels natural.

I had an easy pregnancy, easy baby... but I wanted time to myself after pregnancy and nursing for a year+
I wasn't ready until DS was 18 months? and even then it was just warming up to the idea...
With maybe baby #3, I've been ready for a while I think? But we're not sure yet so we'll see what happens. (DS2 is six months) He's an even easier baby and I think I just want to be done with this phase of my life of pregnancy/etc.

My husband was ok with it before we had the Ok from the doctor to start up marital relations post birth, lol.
I was NOT.
Then we looked at our finances and decided to wait a few years so we wouldn't have to pay double day care.
Then I got baby fever when she was 2, but hubby stuck to the no double day care plan.....
So here we are TTC just before dd 4th birthday. Since we live in Canada I'll have a year mat leave, so with this timing we'd take her out of care while on leave and by the time mat leave is over, she'll be sometime into her first year of school.
Just wait until you feel ready and it feels natural.
