Gilt has a ton of a+a stuff today, and I had a credit that I've been waiting to use, so I bought 2 3-packs of a+a bamboo swaddling blankets (the "good" 47 x 47 kind!). So, I will have 6. Do you think I should still register for more, or is 6 plenty?

I think 6 is a good starting point and you could get more later. We have 8 a&a swaddle blankets and one dream blanket. I love their burby bibs, sleep sacs and sheets too!

I had 8 total and it was plenty! We did laundry every 3 days or so

I got 7 and from what I have read that seems to be a good number so I think 6 would be fine too.
You're going to love the bamboo ones, they are like touching clouds they are so soft.

I think 6 is a great starting place. You may want to register for maybe 2 soft fluffy blankets and a few flannel blankets.

We have 8 A&A, 4 other brand, and 5-10 soft fluffy blankets that we got as gifts.
We use almost all of them. But it was winter time, so we covered her a lot when we went out.

We have 8 which is a good number - we use them for everything!

We have 4 of the 47x47 and 4 of the smaller (43x43?) ones. We used the bigger ones for swaddling for the first month - we gave up the swaddle after a month. I keep one of the smaller ones in a pocket of the diaper bag. I've used it for nursing covers or light blankets. In the beginning I was constantly washing the big blankets. I think 6 should be enough to start. You can always get more if the laundry is overwhelming.

I think 6 is great. We have 8, but I think we would have been fine with 4. But there were too many cute prints to choose from!

I think 6 is plenty. We have 12 (all from gifts) and I never have more than 2 or 3 in the wash at one time. Also, even if you don't register for them.... people will buy them for you since it's one of the most popular baby gifts. So I would not register for anymore.

I have 8 A& A blankets I got the aden & Anais for target so they are slightly cheaper. I have one at daycare, one in her diaper bag at all times. I also have 4 circo fleece blankets for wrapping her up when we go out

Thanks everyone! I think I'll see how 6 goes and order more if necessary once the baby is here.
@anbanan15: Over 50% of my Amazon registry is a+a bibs, sleep sacks, crib sheets, and changing pad covers. I am obsessed with a+a!

@mrskc: I know what you mean about the prints. I had a really tough time choosing (and I was trying to hurry because I know sometimes Gilt sells out of things quickly!). These are the ones I chose

@lawbee11: I love those! You caused me to go on there and I'm tempted to buy more! LOL I don't have any bamboo ones and the sleep sacks looks really nice. I had to close my browser so I would not be tempted.

@lawbee11: It is some amazing stuff! I want sheets and a bream blanket for myself!!

@mrskc: I really need to unsubscribe from their emails now that I've used my credit. They are dangerous!!

We have 8 and I think that's ag ood number. Just FYI, I've heard that the bamboo ones are actually not great to swaddle with, because they're so soft and slippery it's hard to get a tight swaddle. That might not be true for you guys though--and even if it is, there are a million other uses for them!

I have 4 and wish I had more! I love that they get softer as I wash them more.

@hilsy85: Good to know! Who knew being too soft could be a problem?! I may go ahead and register for one or two more non-bamboo ones. Our baby is due during the summer (in Texas!) so I have a feeling we'll get a ton of use out of these since they're so light and breathable.

I have 4 and its been working for us, so I think 6-8 is perfect.

6 should be plenty! I have zero and did fine with both kids. Got a ton of blankets from the hospital and both my kids hated being swaddled

@Leialou: I wanted all of them! T would not have liked that, though

We have 6, and it's more than enough. They never worked for us as actual swaddles. Just an FYI, the bamboo ones are really hard to swaddle tightly with because they're so slippery. And the threads pull really easily.

It's funny because I literally just took off some of the swaddling blankets from my registry this morning so right now there is only one 3 pack of A&A on there. I am going back on right now to add back another 3 pack!
