@blackbird: she has a little Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, and Donald! Goofy and Pluto are going to be in her stocking. She has to sleep with them every night and then she takes 1 or all 4 with her in the morning.
She has a bigger Minnie, but she doesn't like it. Only the small ones.

@Bao: lol Christmas at your house sounds like my type of Christmas!!

@mediagirl: we go a little overboard for Christmas here but we don't treat ourselves much throughout the year so we justify it!

She has 6 to open, plus 3 set up for Santa + stocking, more than I was planning, but in reality nothing has a price tag of higher than $20 (table and chairs from IKEA) so I still kept it under budget.

Alphabet blocks, a mini kitchen, felt play food, and a panda I knit for her
Oh, and we might go to brunch and let her get a dog doll she would love. Otherwise just those 4!

Wow, I feel like a crazy person! I definitely do not have enough fingers and toes to count... But, like @Bao: , we don't really buy much during the year.

Four, but I know he will get spoiled by grandparents. Also I let him open one already! he was much more interested in the wrapping than his gift!

DD is only going to be nearly 4 months this Christmas. She is getting just one gift from us. She'll probably get 10 or so small things from her aunts/uncles and grandparents.

I think we have 5 for her: a truck, a little piano, a puzzle, and two small books. There is also an anywhere chair on its way but that was technically a birthday present (several months late!).
Her grandparents, aunt, and uncle are all probably going to each give her more than us though, so I'm nervous about that.

1 "big" one for each girl. #1 isgetting an American Girl doll #2 is getting a bed for her baby doll. Then a present to share and a small present for each of them to go with the shared present.
A few stocking stuffers as well. I feel like that is plenty! The baby in February is our real present!

I thought it was going to be a slim Christmas, but I started buying stuff in September and didn't notice how it accumulated! While there are a number of gifts the cost was relatively low (no major big gift). He got some books, some plush toys (a rag doll and some puppets), some stuff from a yard sale. His most expensive gift is a bike helmet and that is just boring!

@Smurfette: Sadie has to have her Minnie in the crib every night too. She has to be tucked in beside her. I have to give Minnie both a good night and good morning kiss.
Sadie's getting her kitchen and some plates/cups/silverware from Santa unwrapped. We wrapped 5 things from us: baby Aurora doll (obsessed with taking care of things lately), M+D Christmas cookie set, backpack and matching lunchbox, Toy Story book, and a dress up chest. I wrapped a couple of the things in her stocking too, because she just loves unwrapping.

@swurlygurl: I feel like I could totally go nuts on Christmas too, but my mom buys SO MUCH. We go shopping together and every time I say "Sadie would like this..." or "This is cute..." she buys it! There's nothing left for me to get.

One, plus her stocking stuffer. We opted to get one big gift (her play kitchen).

He's got 3 or 4 things to unwrap, plus one too big to wrap. His birthday was last month and there are so many toys we haven't even put out for him yet. I got him a big pack of ball pit balls (to go in the ball pit tent he got for his birthday), a tote bag (he LOVES to carry things with handles), a Melissa and Doug puzzle, and a little tykes slide. I also have a thermos funtainer for him, but I can't decide if I'll wrap that since it's more of a need for me than something he'll enjoy as a gift. I'm totally blanking on stocking gifts though. I feel like I should have a couple things for it, but I'm at a loss.
Oh, and I still need to get him and the dog a shared gift, lol. The dog popped a sensory ball they both loved playing with so I'll try and replace that.

Play kitchen, Elmo plush toy, Mother Goose story book, and special jammies for Christmas Eve. We have WAYYY too many toys (or maybe it just feels that way since we're setting up baby gear again) so I'm trying to limit.

SO and I did out shopping separate so we don't know what each other got the kids!
DD is getting-
1. Princess Castle with two princesses
2. Toaster to go with the kitchen her aunt bought
3. A baby Alive doll
4. A matching game that is Minnie themed
DS is getting-
1. A big stuffed animal dog a little bigger than him
2. A leapfrog puppy
3. A ball game thing
4. Little soft squishy ball assortment

Way too many. Probably should have scaled back a bit since he's only 16 months old, lol.

3, I think. That's about my limit. Any more than that would feel like too many.

@Ra: how do you think he'll do with play dough and kinetic sand? I debated it but decided he would probably just try to eat it so no. haha

Way more than I had originally planned. I blame that 50% off Melissa and Doug sale on Amazon. I am glad I got him that set of wooden blocks, though. They look nice!

@.twist.: I made E some play-dough at home with simple ingredients, since I knew he'd still eventually try to put it in his mouth. It is a great recipe and super soft and malleable. He apparently plays with play-dough a ton at daycare, but so far he hasn't played with it much at home!
ETA: So, of course, I bought him a play-dough molding set with little rolling pins and such. This kid made out like a bandit for Christmas!

3. A new baby doll with an extra outfit and cloth diapers; a train set; and gears (cog wheels that you build and turn). It doesn't sound like much, but I'm leaning towards just giving her 2. I've had those cog wheels since before she was even 1! It's the perfect toy to play with during Xmas ... but the box says 3 and up. The train set is DH's pick and I was leaning towards saving it for her birthday, but he's so excited about it and everyone here seems to have good feedback on introducing a train set before the age of 3.
I am clearly over thinking this. I just don't want her to be overwhelmed with all the new toys (especially since two consists of so many parts).

@Espion: Good to know! I'd love to hear your recipe if you don't mind? It's probably best to try it before I buy it in case he really does think it's a snack. hah

@.twist.:
1 cup flour, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup salt, 2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 Tbls. vegetable oil, food coloring
The trick is to throw it all in a pot on the stove, stir with a wooden spoon, and cook it until it forms a glob. Then toss it onto a piece of wax paper, let cool, and knead a few times. Store in a sealed container! Since it is all basically flour and water, clean up is easy and it doesn't destroy your pot.

@.twist.: He's played with playdoh at his one-day-ones class and plays with sand in the sandbox. He's tried to lick both but quickly learned that it tastes bad. I'm hoping it will be okay!

She is getting a stocking, plus one toy from Santa. I believe we got her 3 things-- two toys and a book.
