We're lazy, we didn't paint anything!!! All the trim is a neutral white and most of the colors are pretty neutral (yellows, greens, light blues), so we just left it all as it is!

Although there's this one wall that's the bane of my existence because it is soooooooooo ugly (why didn't I realize how ugly it was when we moved in???) and now Hubs doesn't want to paint it! Argh!!

Congrats! We didn't paint anything before we moved in. I had no idea what I wanted to do. Now there are some spaces I've painted that I want to redo, but we'll get there.

@daniellemybelle: Patching might look a bit obvious. Is it flat paint? That blends a bit better I think.

@daniellemybelle: Oh girl. One part of the hallway was super scuffed. I had to fill in some gouges in the drywall. Not to mention the hole that had been duct-tapped and then painted over.

The WHOLE house was a yellowy off white. I couldn't stand it. I painted the master bedroom (twice), and the dining room (twice)... stupid color looked so different once it was on all the walls! the master bath, and the 2nd living room. Then 3 years later I finally got to painting the downstairs bath and laundry room. Still need to do the guest bath and the spare rooms eventually when we have a kid.

We painted the living room the same color cause the walls were so banged up. I don't love it but we are waiting till we get a new couch to paint. We have painted R's room, guest room, and our bedroom, so far. Our bathroom is next.

@daniellemybelle: I totally understand. The bedroom especially didn't feel like it was mine until I painted over the hideous purple. If you can swing it, get your paint color-matched in Ben Moore or Sherwin-Williams paint. I painted my bedroom with Behr and several other rooms with the good stuff and the quality of the higher-end paints is so worth it.

congrats! When we first moved in we painted the kitchen, main floor bath, and lower level living room. A few months later I painted the dining room. Next year I (had) painted all the hallways, great room, bedroom, and master bath. Year after that I painted one of the upstairs bedrooms (which is now the nursery).

The only rooms currently unpainted are the laundry room and our 2 extra bedrooms (one of which is a guest bedroom and one is a storage room).

@daniellemybelle: Well, the room I used Behr in was purple and I painted it a light blue. It took two coats of primer and two coats of paint to beat the purple into submission. So if you aren't covering up Barney purple, you will probably be fine. I just love SW paint and recommend it to everyone.

We re-posted every room and re-re-posted the garage floor and walls. When I say we, I mean the painter we hired. Two of the rooms were repainted the same color because I liked the color to begin with, but since we added crown molding to those rooms we had to paint them.

@daniellemybelle: nope. We even just did touch ups recently to get ready for sale and nothing is obvious. Though I will say that for one color we ran out and had Home Depot "color match" and that wasn't exactly the same so we had to repaint a whole wall instead of just touch up.

Congrats! We didn't paint but we took the opportunity to get rid of the popcorn ceilings. We ended up having to do a little bit of touch up when that was finished. Our wall colors were neutral and I liked what the previous owners had chosen. Most of the house is a light grey.

We painted every room and ceiling. The previous owners were smokers and two coats of Kilz primer + paint was the only way to get rid of the smell completely.

But in your case, I would probably just touch up the main areas and wait until later to do a lot of repainting.
