I met a mom who had her 18 month old potty trained. Basically it was like elimination communication but her daughter was able to hold her pee/poo until her mom took her to the potty every 2 hours or so.

My LO is daytime potty trained and we did the 3 day potty method at 24 months. We still put her in a pull up at nap and bedtime. She wakes up dry from naps 99% of the time and maybe 90% of the time overnight...but she sleeps 11.5+ hours at night so I'm in no rush to disturb her nighttime sleep. I read on babycenter that the 3 day potty method is ideal from 18-28 months or something like that. After that other potty training techniques work better. Every kid is so different - so don't feel like you're behind. You're LO is still so little!

We trained at 30 months. Pee took one day and poo two weeks. We might have been able to start a few months earlier, but we were traveling and I was also waiting for it to be warm enough for DS to run around naked.

Not alone! I stood in the aisle at target the other day contemplating a potty (because everyone else is, duh) and then thought "wtf am I doing?".

LO is def not ready. And I honestly like the convenience of the diaper

At 22 months, we have tried sitting on it a few times and she holds it in. She just doesnt seem like she is ready. We will keep trying the odd time but we are not going to fight it. I hear ya though, seems like a competition sometimes.

DD was potty trained by 2.5 ish. I waited until she was ready and the whole process took a day and she has had minimal accidents. DS#1 is just over two and the thought of potty training him is very daunting, I hope it's just as easy as it was with DD. I fully intend to wait because I know more kids who have potty issues because potty training was pushed on them too early, than I would like to admit.

DD will be 18m this weekend and she has been telling us when she pee's and poo's for a while now. She asks to sit on the toilet, and we need to get her a seat thing for it, but I am in zero rush to have her potty trained. I think it's great she's showing the recognition of going, but would rather do one successful attempt at it further down the road over any time soon!

Crazy to think some can be potty trained at this age, I can't picture it aaaaat all and am totally okay with her in diapers for a while yet.

Stay in denial that we're getting to that stage

lo is 18 months and we haven't started training yet, although I did get a potty for her to get used to. I'll look into potty training more at the end of the year.

DD is 23 months and wears undies while we are home and does 50% of her pees in the potty. We still have a ton of accidents, but she immediately runs to the potty and tries to finish on there. She refuses to poop on the potty. We've had the potty "around" since she was 18 months.

My mom is really pushing for potty training because she says all 5 of her kids were completely day and night potty trained (100%) before their second birthdays. Talk about pressure!

We've introduced the potty before bath time at like 14 months, she was very interested in it (2 kids at her in home were potty training.) She's gone several times on the potty but we don't pressure it. She also has started telling us when she's stinky, which is always the case. Potty training seriously scares me...so I'm just going off her cues right now.

LO is 22 months and I'm in no rush to rush her to potty train. She does sometimes go on the potty at daycare, but without the positive peer pressure of slightly older friends who are in full-on potty training mode, at home she has refuses to sit on the potty. She has a little Elmo potty and is comfortable with it; so we'll reassess when she shows more interest/seems more ready for it.

LO was ready at 20 months- now at 23 months we have maybe 1 accident per week. She was displaying all of the signs and we did the 3 day method that worked wonderfully. I'm still amazed that it was so easy.

We are exploring the potty and C likes to sit on it occasionally (usually right after I do) and while he has had success, I am in zero hurry. I am hoping to try closer to age 2.5. (He is 22 months now)

We trained around 23 months. Daytime was easy, naps and night took a few months longer. In my experience, a lot of people have success either shortly before or shortly after the second birthday.

@2PeasinaPod: We trained sitting, but after a couple months he decided he preferred to stand.

@oliviaoblivia: we do the same. totally casual. she hasn't peed or pooped in it once, but she likes sitting on it and crouches over it like she's getting on a ride-on toy that she has. it's pretty funny.
