DD picked out this bedding - she has chair rail.
Right now its 2 different colors
How should I paint the new wall?
Blue shade on top and white/grey on bottom ?
White/gray on top and blue shade on bottom?
All the same blue shade ?
eta: by blue shade I mean something that matches the quilt

I would do all one color, the two tone look is a little dated and I think it makes rooms look smaller.
ETA: yes, definitely keep the chair rail white! But the same color above and below it.

All one color and keep chair rail white. I would do a very very very light shade of that blue.

I'm probably going to be in the minority, but I would paint the walls all white, and paint the actual chair rail the aqua color. I think it would be fun in a childs room.

I’d paint the chair rail and bottom half white; better yet add beadboard. I’d paint the top half a shade darker than the blue that’s in the bedding.

Cute! The colors in the bedding she picked out is similar to the color scheme in Young House Love's daughters room. I'd keep the chair rail white or remove it altogether. What are you doing for window treatments? I'd pick those before I pick a paint color...but I am weird about that kind of stuff.

Hmm...I didn't realize the two toned look is dated. Almost every room in our house has a chair rail, and while some is all one color, there are a few rooms with the two toned look and I love it.
We always do the darker color on the bottom, as it tends to be the smaller space. Then do a lighter color on the top.

@Mamaof2: I only mention it because it's a lot easier to match paint to fabric. I boxed myself into a corner when we painted our house because we picked the paint colors first, and I had a challenging time finding bedding, sofas, etc that I liked.
I personally wouldn't do the curtains that match the bedding, I like the look of either white (as you already have) or a panel a shade lighter or darker than the paint color.

@Mamaof2: I would keep those white curtains, white chair rail, and soft light blue/ almost mint or aqua wall top and bottom. Or possibly use the same color but a couple shades lighter above the chair rail.
I picked out that quilt for my daughter and wanted to do soft aqua walls and white curtains. But she has a mind of her own and chose a different (still cute) quilt and insisted on yellow walls.

I would paint the walls white on top and bottom and then paint the chair rail a fun color.
I would also keep your existing curtains -- matching the curtains and bed spread exactly feels too matchy-matchy too me, and from your pictures it looks like they compliment each other really well already.
