Thank you, all, for your kind words. I feel terrible because I am so dissapointed but I know he feels even worse. He's being overly attentive, etc even though he's the one with the loss. I think I just need to process this.

I'm so sorry. I was hoping he would have a severance package. So sorry that he got laid off as a teacher. I look up to teachers. They do so much but don't get paid enough.
Is it hard to get into a substitute teaching? Hope he finds something.

You are so amazing to be thinking of how your dh will react to your sadness/disappointment. It affects you too, so you definitely have the right to be worried and upset, but I just wanted to say you are very unselfish to not let it escalate or make him worry even more.

Sorry for the bad news and the bad timing of it!! What a bummer. Dh was laid off the week after Dd's first bday. Was unemployed for five months, got a job and then got fired a month later. It was rough but you will survive

Just a an update, DH has an interview for a job tomorrow! It pays better (not hugely, we are teachers after all
), has better benefits and is more in line with the type of teaching environment he would prefer. Please send some good luck vibes! -
