Bee and I are taking the kids to the Philippines later this month. We need iPhone and iPad apps to keep the kids distracted during the 4 days of plane travel involved.
I'd love to hear what iOS apps (especially for the iPad!) that have been a hit with your toddlers! Any recommendations?

any app that involves spelling, there is a simple one that you drag letters to, I have to look it up later...
I'll post more later when I can check the iPad. My son's 19 months, so he's younger than Charlie, but maybe you'll get some ideas from what we have

@anonysquire: He loves Fruit Ninja!! The bombs are kinda stressful for him though... you should see his eyes when he hits a bomb haha!

I feel the same way. I get way into it probably lol. I just know that is one of the easier games. As far as playing goes. Oh and make sure to download movies and TV episodes on there. I love that for slow nights at work!

@anonysquire: Ah great idea, we'll buy some movies off of iTunes! I only ever stream using Hulu or Netflix, so buying a movie never occurred to me!

Ok, here we are:
The "spelling" app is First Words Animals. You see a picture of the animal, and below are shaded letters. Then you drag the letter below those to the shaded letters. Not really spelling, but it's matching.
My son loves the read along stories, he likes The Lorax by Dr. Suess, Moo Baa La La La by Sandra Boynton and one about a Lonely Spider (it is by Callaway Arts). This also has coloring and matching games.
There is a Thomas the Train app, but my son doesn't like that. He prefers the videos, but they can only be the ones from Season 9 read by Michael Angelis. I don't know how he knows the difference from the ones by Ringo Starr, but he does.

There's a free "Baby Piano" app that LO liked even when he was as little as Olive is. That and Peekaboo Barn (which LO LOVES) are the only two I have, and I only have Baby Piano on the iPad because the phone screen is a little too small for it.
