Why did you wait? For me, my DH and I didn't even meet until I was 30 and we didn't get married until I was 34. I got pregnant a month after we got married. Then we tried for our second as soon as we could stomach it. I had had a fairly tough pregnancy with my first and he was a tough infant that wasn't sleeping through the night at all. We started TTC again when he was 15 months but I didn't get pregnant for almost a year. I was 37 when we got pregnant.

I know this is the 35+ board, but I was 33 when I had LO1 and 35 when I had LO2.
Similar to you, I met DH when I was 30. We were married 2 years later to the day, and had LO1 10 months after that. Then I got pregnant with LO2 when LO1 was 14 months old, so they are 2 years apart.

We didn't get married till I was 31. We both wanted to be married for awhile before kids. We ended up having LO after being married almost 2.5 years. Then we waited till we were ready to have another. I was a month from turning 38 when I had LO2.

I met my husband when I was 32.5 and got married at 34.5. We waited a year before TTC. It took eight months to get a sticky baby then obviously nine months to gestate him. So I because a mom at almost 37.
I was not ready to TTC #2 until just before my son's second birthday. So far it's been over a year and we finally got a bfp so we'll see if this one sticks. If it does then I will be 40 when it is born.
I would prefer to be a slightly younger mom, but given when I met my husband anything sooner would have felt rushed for us. And unfortunately it has taken awhile to get pregnant each time which has extended the schedule even further.

I met my husband when I was 27 - but we did a lot of long distance time and lots of back and forth between NY & LA. We finally got pregnant when I was 35, almost 36. I just had my second at 39. Honestly, we just didn't do the math. We both really regret Waiting so long as we would like to have a third, but it's hard when you are older (energy, more risk of MC, etc) if I had it to do over again I would have started at 32.

Similar to above stories. Met dh when I was 32, married at 35. We didn't really wait too long. We bought a house 4 mos after wedding, bfp for lo1 5 mos after wedding. Had lo1 at 36. We wanted to ttc 2 yrs after but dh had some serious health issues so it got pushed back 1 yr. Then we had secondary infertility. Took over a yr to get our second bfp. Got it when I was 39, had lo2 one month before I turned 40.
I certainly wish we'd started ttc #2 sooner...

So not quite over 35 for my first but still later than I wanted all things considered...
met my husband when I was 22, got engaged at 27 and married at 29 (like another poster said, I feel like we just didn't do the math). Then infertility struck so I did not have my first until I was 32 and my second until I was 35. Still waffling about whether to go for the third and wish we had more time (and my husband is already in his 40s). -
I always say the same things on these threads, but my mother had me at 36 and my little sister at 41. To me, she has never felt like an "old mom". I should also say, I am one of 6 kids and we are the two youngest. But my mother is now 71 and super active and energetic. She is way more fit than me and way more fit and active than some of my peer's parents who are a decade or more younger.
Also, I have friends "in real life" who had kids in their early 40s. One just had her second at 42. She worked with a fertility specialist for number 2 because it was taking a while, but in the end she got pregnant a month before they were going to try IUI (I think she was already on something at that point...femara? something else?).

Pretty similar story here. I had a marriage in my 20s that ended without kids (thankfully). I dated another guy long term who wouldn't commit. I finally met my husband in my early 30s. By the time we dated, married, and I finished grad school, I was 36. I always wanted kids earlier in life, like my late 20s, but that's when I was single, so it didn't work out that way for me.

The 35 year thing is garbage, it isn't like at 35, you're infertile. Plus, that figure is based on old research. There's a really good article in the Atlantic that debunks it. Additionally, if you have problems getting pregnant at 35, there is a chance that you would have had those problems at 25, so I don't put too much stock into the cut off.
Technically I was 35 when I got pregnant and 35 when I delivered, but it was because my husband and I got together later in life.

Similar to others - met my husband at 28, got married at 31, had my first shortly after turning 33. I turn 35 in two months and we plan to TTC #2 a few months after that. Although I know that, like @looch: said, the 35+ thing is pretty much junk, I'm still anxious about TTC at an older age.

I met my husband really young. We waited until close to 30 to get married so that we could get established in our careers and be individually self sufficient. We then waiting to TTC until we felt good about our child care situation. I ended up needing IVF after trying for a few years. I will likely need IVF again for baby #2. I'm 34.

I got married the first time when I was 27 and it didn't last. I met my now husband at 33, we got married when I was 36 and got pregnant on our first try...I had LO1 just after I turned 37. I'm now pregnant with LO2 at 39...this baby was a surprise and was conceived during the only time we weren't careful, so I'd say that being older certainly hasn't made it harder for me to get pregnant. I do wish I was younger, mostly because I am SO tired! But, overall I feel like things happen when they're meant to.

Got married at 29, wanted to enjoy being married for a while, plus we lived in a studio in NYC and didn't want to move just yet. I got pregnant first month of trying when I was 32 (DS born when I was almost 33) and now at just 35 have started TTC-ing #2. We are on month 3, and even if we are successful next month I will be 36 when I have #2. I will say, we have had a VERY stressful few months with buying a house and selling our condo, plus we have all been sick a lot, so I think that is part of why it hasn't happened as quickly this time.

@Anagram: love to hear a "kids'" perspective on older parents.
I met my husband at 38, married at 39 & still waited until my home sold to ttc at 40. I had my daughter at 41 & we are unsure whether we'll try for a LO2, but are currently ntnp. Sure, I'd love to have been younger, but just wasn't at that point in my life. Overall I don't regret the way it has all played out.

We met at 35, got married and had LO1 at 36 and had LO2 at 38. So we didn't wait too long to try but it felt like I had to wait a long time to meet the right guy. I feel like it all worked out.
Totally thought you were my age, I'm 32, turning 33 this year!
