If your baby still was not sleeping through the nigh at a year old, when did they start?
Mine is 13 months old and is still waking up twice to eat. She started only getting up once a couple months ago, but teething ruined it.
I have no interest in sleep training and will deal with it for as long as it takes. Just venting and looking for some hope that someday she may sleep better?

I think LO1 was around 16 months and about the same, closer to 18 months for LO2. She actually sttn most night from 0-9 months but illness and teething made her regress a lot after. We didn't do any sleep training and I nursed both at night.

20ish months, it was brutal. DH was very against sleep training so we just waited it out. Luckily he took care of a ton of the night waking so it wasn't just up to me and now at 3.5 DS is a champion sleeper!

Sleep got better for us around 15 months and we had about a year of good sleep before things went south again. At 3 now she wakes to potty most nights, and I'm somewhat resigned to the fact that she's just not a kid who sleeps long stretches or doesn't need parenting in the night.
I hope you get some longer stretches soon! I find 1x a night manageable but 2 or more almost every night is HARD.

She was there at 15 or 16 months but then she started part time day care and slept terribly for another couple months, so I've always called it 18/19 months.
She's a great night time sleeper now at 3 years- 6:30 or7:00 bedtime, sleeps until 6:30am and then plays quietly until I get her at around 7

DS started STTN at 14 months, but at 18 months went through some separation anxiety which led to bailing from the crib, so now he's in a toddler bed. He ends up in our bed every night by midnight. Really wish he would start sleeping longer stretches!
Edited to add that he started STTN only b/c we weaned from nursing. Before that he was up at least once to nurse.

Following. LO is almost 13mos & most nights wakes once to nurse. I would love to sleep through the night, but I think she'll get there & we aren't going to do any significant sleep training, either. She's doing better about going back to sleep on her own or going down awake at nap & sometimes bedtime. Good luck!

LO is almost 16 months and she has never STTN. However within last two weeks (after a bad stretch of multiple times a night bc teething) she's now only getting up once and almost always between 9:30-10:30 (she goes to bed around 6) so she is basically sleeping through MY night so I will take that! Trade off though because she also is waking up earlier.
ETA: for me the real game changer has been going down from two+ to just one wake up compared to one wake up to none. Sleeping through the night is great but even if she doesn't get up I'm usually up at some point anyway. . So hopefully your LO will do that soon!

She was 25 months the first time she did it and, at almost 3, she still wakes once a night 2-3 times a week.

Around 23 months for my twins. They are 25 months now and usually one of them is up each night, but for the most part I say they're sleeping through the night.

I can't vote cause she's 17 months and still not sleeping through. She's up at LEAST once. Average, twice. Sometimes more.
Last week she slept 3.5 woke to nurse then slept 9 (!!!!) and hasnt' done it again. Woe is me.

@Revel: thank you. I feel like I could do one wake up a night forever, or maybe 2 if she fell back asleep right away. The last couple weeks she has stayed awake for 2-3 hours after her first wake up and its killing me! This needs to stop

14 months. For like 6+ months before that she was doing 1 wakeup most days between 2-5 and I could sometimes just give her a paci but often had to rock her back to sleep and set her down. Then one day she decided she didn't want to be rocked anymore. Literally out of nowhere, after rocking her to sleep basically every day of her life. She'd be obviously tired but would just cry and try to noodle off my lap. So for like 3 days in a row during her wakeup I'd try to rock her, she'd noodle, and I'd just put her back in her crib and walk away. it sucked because I had no intention of sleep training but if she wouldn't let me help her sleep, and its 2am... I really didn't know what else to do. She cried on/off for like 45 min the first night. The second night was like 20. The third night was like 10. Then she just hasn't really woken up MOTN and asked for us since then except for when she's been sick!

I said 24-30 months, but it is so hard to say because he is always going through phases. He is three and doesn't consistently sleep through the night, but has had some weeks or even months when he did and then stopped again. He was really bad in the fall with multiple wake ups a night. Since then he's been hit or miss. He might wake up once, twice or not at all. Sigh... Someday I will sleep again... My 5 month old used to sleep through the night and now is back to waking up twice. I hope he is a better sleeper in the future than his brother.
ETA: we did sleep train my oldest at 9 months and it was brutal. It worked for a few months and then he was back to waking up again.

@Cherrybee: Not that I'm glad someone else suffers as well, but it is nice to know that my kid isn't the only pain in the rear that still wakes up...

DS never slept through the night until he weened at 20.5 months. But that doesn't mean he did it ever since then. We go through cycles. DS was 3 in March and the last few months has been the most consistent with sleeping through and even now it still isn't perfect.

My oldest did her first "STTN" at 22 months. But even then, it was only 8 hours. My second started STTN at 15 months.

My oldest was 12.5 months when he finally started STTN. My youngest was about 14.5 months. Both of them really started to STTN right around when we fully weaned.

You guys are killing me with these answers. My 10 month old is a horrible sleeper and i work full timeand already feel like I'm going to die most days. This is not encouraging!!

20 effing months. And after that it was still very touch-and-go for the next 6 months before I could count on sttn. We did multiple rounds of various CIO sleep training methods and nothing ever stuck. Brutal!

15.5 months for LO1, right after he started walking. He was still nursing, but it seemed like his new skill wore him out and allowed us to all finally get some good rest.

18 months when we took away the bottle, but that was short lived since his molars and a growth spurt happened just before he turned 2. He's 3 next month and still wakes up at least twice a nice. Oof!

It took until 2 (24-5 months) to night wean fully, but after that he sleeps like a dream. Like, not even a peep the whole night. I'm kind of glad we followed his cues, because his sleep is not an issue now (knock wood!)

Mine started to at 15 months but it only lasted a month or two months and she started waking up again 1x a night. At 21 mo I let her fuss it out and it only took two short nights and she has been sleeping all night since (except when she's sick- and she is 26mo).

Reading all your replies makes me feel much better. Im so sick of talking to other moms and they tell me "my baby has been sleeping through the night since they were 8 weeks old" with a snooty look on their face while they look at me like im doing something wrong because my baby doesnt, lol

It was around 13-14 months that he started consistently STTN as in 11-12 hours. Of course at 3.5 years old it's never guaranteed that he wont need us during the night but for the most part he sleeps through.

I couldn't count on DD STTN most nights until closer to 2. Around 15 months she would do it quite a few nights a week but only for a few weeks, then she'd go back to waking up frequently for a few weeks.

I dont really remember for how to vote but for both kids it was down to one wake up shortly after their first birthday and completely STTN by 18 months (probably much sooner but thats when it consistently happened enough to count it)>

My son miraculously started sttn a few days before he turned 1. Of course it only lasted a couple months. Since he turned two he sttn 99% of the time.
My daughter is almost 12 months and has never sttn. Holding out hope she does sometime soon!

DS2- 14 months. I weaned at 13.5 months. He continued to wake for 2 weeks for a bottle, but after that STTN. Knock on wood, he's 18 months and is a great sleeper.
