I think I've post about this before but my 4 year still has an imaginary friend. (No I'm sorry, to quote him, "He is just very camouflaged" 
) I think it's funny, but he talks about him like he's totally real and his teacher thought it was his cousin or something. He tells some people it's his brother, haha! I guess I should tell his teacher in the fall so she doesn't think we have some crazy other son! Anyone else have a child with an imaginary friend?

She had an imaginary older sister named Libby. We had a bday party for her last weekend. She came to work with me one day last week too. LO asked when I picked her up if Libby had fun at my work. It is annoying at times but I love she is using her imagination.

Not a child with an imaginary friend, but I definitely had a whole bunch of imaginary friends in early elementary school (I remember making up stories about my imaginary friends and imaginary pets with a *real* friend who I didn't meet until kindergarten) so I wouldn't worry about him "still" having one! I was just a really creative kid and ended up loving to write as I got older. I still write for my job, though not fiction!

My kids haven't talked about imaginary friends, but we have a really cute book called "Imaginary Fred" with illustrations by Oliver Jeffers. Maybe your son would relate to it.
