Lil Miss Wagon is very attached to her lovey (angel dear dalmatian) and we had 6 of them. They are all getting pretty gross since she drags them around at daycare and sucks on them while she sleeps. We give her a fresh one each night before bedtime but since they're white (bad choice!!) they are quite dingy, despite all my laundering efforts.

During the move we lost one so we were down to 5, and I started getting uncomfortable with less than a week's supply at hand (I do laundry 2-3x a week but what if she spills something or throws up and we have to go through more than one a day??) so I ordered another pair, washed them twice and put them into the rotation, putting our total up to 7. Last night we gave her a new one for the first time, and she TOTALLY knew. She kept touching the "feet" and saying "it's hot" (I think she meant it was fuzzy and soft, instead of nubby and gross like her old ones..) and when Wagon Sr. left the room after putting her down, she threw it out of the crib and cried!

He went back in and gave it back to her and calmed her down, and eventually she fell asleep... but rolled around for almost an hour first, NOT touching it!! I debated for the entire hour whether or not I should go in there and replace it with an old one. Finally she cuddled up to it and fell asleep... but not sucking on it as usual. (Maybe this is the way to get her to stop sucking them!) In the middle of the night she woke up crying and cuddled back up to it. This morning she was treating it as she normally treats her loveys. Wagon Sr. said that the new lovey went through her initiation process of rejection for the first night, so now he's in. Haha.
