My lo is almost 7 months, and until 6 months was ebf. I've been slowly trying to introduce solids but she is not a fan!
She nurses on demand and doesn't seem to be decreasing nursing sessions so she's never hungry for solids... I'm a bit worried about weaning her for when I'm back to work at 13 months..,
any advice?

I was told to start by letting them play with a spoon while you're eating. We have had really good luck with purees, and really anything we put in front of DS, but not all kids are the same!

I don't have a ton of advice about weaning as I went back to work at 12 weeks, but my LO also wasn't interested in solids in the beginning either. He started eating cereal more regularly around 7.5 months, and then we added one meal each month after that.

I didn't BF, but I once read that it's good to start "finger feeding" a BF baby. Instead of using a spoon for purees, for example, you dip your finger in and let them suck it off. It's suppsed to be similar to a nipple in their mouth and it lets them get accustomed to solids. Then you can transition to a spoon once she's comfortable with solids.
I forget where I read that though! Somewhere on the interwebs

@Adira: I know it's a bit early for me to worry, I just started to wonder if I'm missing some crucial component of how to do this... I'm happy to hear it might turn around when she's ready.
@Mrs.Someone: yes my sister's kids had no trouble adjusting and they also nursed on demand. Just cut back on nursing to make room for solids . Nothing special she had to do.

@Peasinapod: Worrying about this is totally normal. I wrote so many posts about how my son wasn't interested in solids and how freaked out I was about it! So I totally feel you!

@Peasinapod: Actually, you're not supposed to cut back on BFing yet, they just add solids on top of it. But either way, just offer, and don't stress out about it, you have lots of time

My friend got one of those mesh feeders they can hold and put like a piece of cantaloupe and let them play with it.

Continue breastfeeding on demand; don't cut out feeds or expect her to reduce her intake. Breastmilk has more important nutrients in it than the one or two foods that you might offer your LO each day. Solids complement rather than replace bm at this stage.
I've had success offering solids (via spoon or finger food) about an hour after LO's last milk feeding. The idea is to let them get a feel for it at this strage. Don't worry if she's interested one day but not the next; it's normal.
What foods have you offered? Mashed banana via spoon and banana with some skin left on (for a handle) for finger food worked well for us.

@miramira: we've tried quite a few foods. Oat cereal, banana, avocado, peas, sweet potato, carrots, zucchini, steak (large church to suck on this was as close to success as we got) and ground steak (didn't like it ground) egg yolk.
It may be she's just not interested yet, but it also seems like she's always full so doesn't want much. We don't breastfeed on any form of a schedule and she nurses pretty much constantly - sometimes just for a super short snack, but going about an hour between nursing is standard.
I don't mind continuing to nurse as much as she wants, I just worry that she's not really adding any solids, and doesn't seem to have increasing interest.

@snowjewelz: yes she did like it when we did that. Although it created quite a mess! And I'm not sure how much was eaten vs spread about.

@ADIRA @Mrs.Someone: thank you! It's sometimes hard to remember how quickly things change and 6 months is quite awhile to introduce solids. My sister gave me anxiety this weekend when she asked how solids were going and I responded she wasn't in to them. Sister was worried I'd have trouble switching her over before daycare at 13 months ( my daughter is pretty boob obsessed)

My sister also had me stressed because her LO took to purées right away and would eat a whole jar at a time, etc. My LO would try a few bites and then be done. At 8 months it really took off. Now he's 11 months and doing awesome with solids. He loves feeding himself.

Do you pump at all? We inadvertently started LO on solids early because (TMI alert) I was scraping some of the fat off the sides of a bottle of pumped milk with a spoon and offered him the spoon. He thought that spoon was the greatest thing ever!

We just started LO 1-2 weeks ago and she still makes the most horrified betrayal face whenever solids touch her mouth. We're doing mostly BLW with some spoon feeding. She is getting some of it in! But probably 99.99% of her nutrition is still BM. I'm really counting on the food under one just for fun theory, and that she'll get into it at some point!

I agree, she just might not be ready yet. And that's totally fine! Most of her nutrition should still be coming from BF/formula right now, anyway! Just follow her lead and keep trying different things. Maybe you just haven't offered something she loves yet.
ETA: DD2 is just over 7m and we're doing maybe once daily during dinner. She gets anywhere from 1/2-2oz depending on what I'm serving her. When she's done that mouth clamps shut. And when she's unsure, the face she gives me is just classic. LOL
@MenagerieMama: I know some people get annoyed when I say this but I'm definitely a believer of "food before one" is just for fun!

@Peasinapod: my LO is the same age (turns 7 mos next week) and she has very little interest in solids, so I wouldn't worry, your LO isn't alone I just keep offering and sometimes she takes a little and most of the time she has no interest...but you have a long time between now and 13 mos when it comes to something like eating solids. No stress!
