@MRS.PINECONE316: I think we are all adjusting well. It is interesting doing all of this at a hotel in a rural area of another state. Fortunately, the staff here is excited about our story and he is impossible not to fall in love with. I am really looking forward to being home though.

We are finally able to head home tomorrow! The baby is doing amazingly well. The doctor gave him a clean bill of health this morning and an A+ to us on parenting. Honestly, I think we were blessed with an exceptionally easy newborn.

I'm sorry I have not updated in over a week. Our little man is keeping us busy! He was a delight on the flight home and has adjusted well to his new environment. My husband and I are working on finding a good balance in our new role as parents because it is the most challenging thing either of us has done. Lol! On the legal front, as I suspected, our situation is far from usual. As a matter of fact, as per an attorney who advised on the updating of our state's adoption laws last year, our situation is so rare, it was a scenario that was never even considered under the updated laws! And just like every other crazy twist in our story, that appears to work in our favor. We still have plenty of things to do to make our situation permanent. But, again, there is no doubt in anyone's mind we were meant to be a family. I can't wait to tell the whole story!

I thought I might give a quick update. Our little guy turned two months old this past Monday. He is, without question, the light of our lives. I never realized I was not whole until he found his way to us. I am beyond pleased to share he is healthy, strong and thriving. It feels amazing to be a happy little family of three!
