@jh524: I wish you the best of luck!! I am in a similar situation as you, in that I wanted to be preggo by august... well here we are in July and we can't even try this month I'm beginning to think my time table may get pushed back OR we may have to really look at being one and done.

@gotkimchi: I was confused by my short cycle!! I actually thought it was implantation bleeding for the first day!!! I think my body knew I was TTC and just played an evil trick on me!

@Ajsmommy: it's frustrating! I really want one more lo but I just turned 35 and I'm holding off my career to stay home. Tick tock tick tock. Lol giving myself 6 months to get KU Hopefully my cycles will quit playing games and get serious. Lol

Well that AF was fast & furious. Only 3 days long but brutal. I'm trying to think positive for this cycle and going to try OPK's so any advise on which one or best brand would be great!

@jh524: a lot of people like to use the cheaper strips, but I personally prefer the clearblue OPKs with the smiley face. The first month I used a good bit of them bc I wasn't sure exactly which date I would O, but after that I've only used 3ish a month. They are very simple to use...a smiley means you are about to O and a blank circle means not yet! However, a lot of people do really well the strips. You just keep using those until the test line is as dark as the control line. Good luck!

@Silva: How are you doing? Did AF end up showing?

  8. Ajsmommy

    pomegranate / 3355 posts

@jh524: I got some cheapie strips (wondfos) from amazon for opk's but I honestly don't really like them. Of course I haven't gotten a positive one yet so maybe that's why I despise them :0

As for my time table.. I'm already 38 and I'm really not wanting to have a baby after 40 soooo it's kinda do or die time for me

@Ajsmommy: when you had your short cycle how was your period? Normal? Mine was extremely short - only 2 days.@jh524: this was the strangest cycle!

  10. Ajsmommy

    pomegranate / 3355 posts

@gotkimchi: it was shorter and lighter. I thought for a day it was implantation bleeding but then when it didn't stop I realized it was just too much to be implantation.... although it was nowhere as heavy as my normal periods.

  11. gotkimchi

    nectarine / 2400 posts

@Ajsmommy: ok! I thought the same thing at first but yah it was way more then I'd consider implantation bleeding

  12. jh524

    pear / 1632 posts

@gotkimchi: how bizarre is it that we had the same thing happen at the same time!
I'm just glad it's over, whatever that was.

@Ajsmommy: thanks for sharing! Well let's get KU already looking forward to seeing you get your and same with other ladies and myself!!!!!
Oh when do I start with OPK's?? Now?

@jh524: just chiming in on the OPK topic. I got some clear blue ones at CVS - it was $50 for 10 of them - the show nothing if no O, a flashing smiley 2 days before O and a solid smiley for your 2 peak days. I liked them - they were easy to use. However, I saw the same thing at target for $30 not long after and was pissed! So def go to Target looking instead of CVS!

    @TrailRunner: yes, it did!

sorry for being MIA. We decided to skip this month of TTC. I'm pretty mixed about it. We decided not to try, because if I did get pregnant the due date would be smack in the middle of a month of overnight shifts for my husband (he is in his final year of residency). I just can't do that alone- I know what its like with a toddler, but can't imagine it with an infant too. I'd likely have to stay with my parents, who live an hour away, which would be fine for me but I'd feel bad for my husband to have to spend the first couple weeks away from his newborn.
After that month, though, its pretty easy rotations until the end of residency. So we will just try starting in August. I'm probably going to even use OPKs at that point. Previously I just charted, but there has been a change in my health which results in slightly less predictable cycles, and I just can't temp the way that I could before there was a toddler in my life!

The upside of all of this is I can enjoy the rest of the summer without first trimester fatigue- I will hopefully be able to continue to improve in my physical activity level, and get some more projects done around the house. we just moved to a new home, and my daughter is still reeling from all the transitions, so it will be good to give her a little more time of consistency before I'm hit with pregnant hormones (pregnancy was pretty tough for me the first time around).

Hope I don't "see" any of you on the next board, but I'll be there.

@Silva: hi! I know exactly what your talking about. We also were TTC so the birth would align with my husbands ideal work schedule. Good luck in August!! I'll be there with ya

@Mrs D: holy crap these OPK's are expensive!!! Luckily I got a pack of 7 Clear Blue on sale at Rite Aid for $6.99!!! Regular price 27.99 and I had to pick up my jaw off the floor when I saw some are up to $50 bucks!!! Wow!!! Spendy lil sticks

@jh524: I got a pack of 20 I think off amazon for around $30. They have lasted me 5 cycles so far, so not too bad.

So right now I'm 7 dpo and I've been having spotting for the last few days... some bright red blood after bm (sorry if TMI). Anyone have this issue and still get a BFP? I really hope it's not AF coming early...

My LP started off really short after I went off the pill in January, but now it's up to 10-12 days... I'm worried that's not long enough!

Hey everyone! Congrats to all the positives for the month so far, and all the best to those waiting to test!

I'm not sure I quite belong here since we aren't exactly TTC-ing. I came off depo in June and haven't seen AF yet, but I did happen to notice fertile mucous two days in a row, both days on which we BD'ed. So it makes sense to POAS right?? I'm expecting it to take quite a while to get the depo out of my system so if I really am pregnant it will be quite an awesome surprise for DH and I.

I'll POAS on July 28th - our three year wedding anniversary and 10 days past ovulation. If I get a negative I'll POAS again a few days later.

Any more news on this thread? It's been pretty quiet. Anyone want to make an August POAS thread? I would but I'm going to be away for a couple weeks in August visiting family so I won't be able to get on every day.

@ModernDayJibarita: I am so sorry for your loss

@WinterBee: yes! It is def time for someone to start an August thread!

AFM, sorry I have been so absent. This has been a week from hell. One of my pets had to have emergency surgery and there were so many complications I spent all day and all night in and out of regular and emergency vets. I'm one of those crazies that loves my pets like they are kids, so it was really tough on me. Things have drastically improved, so fingers crossed no more set backs happen. I also have horrible AF cramps and bloat, so she's on her way soon.

@ModernDayJibarita: so sorry for your loss!

@TrailRunner: Still spotting w/ cramps, bloating, etc.... I caved and tested Saturday morning (8dpo) and got a BFN... I think AF will show her ugly face today or tomorrow! So I'll most likely be rolling over to August.
