June POAS: TTC 6+ Months

I'm a week behind again, so catching up.

@Amorini: drunken BD is definitely fun! I wish my fertile window weren't during the work week, because that sounds like a great idea!

@LoveHope: I'm so sorry about AF, but glad to hear that you had a wonderful time in Aruba. You are not alone in feeling low. Group hug for you! It's ok to be down; it happens to all of us, and you can always vent here!

    @auggiefrog: @2farmmoms: how's the tww treating you?

@Crystal: anovulatory cycles are cruel - it's not enough that we try so hard and don't succeed, but to not have a chance in a cycle at all? Mean.

@ms.line: I did that exhausting testing cycle month Dec into Jan. It is a lot! Hooray for being done! And WOW! Happy surprise BFP!! Congrats!

    @LibbyLou: WOO HOO!! Congratulations!!

@HellOnHeels: I'm so sorry about AF - esp such an ambush. Booooo. I feel your pain about the blood draw - I ended up having 20+ vials taken for all of the testing I had done and it took them 5 sticks and huge bruises to get it done. <hugs>

@NorthStar: Thinking about you this morning! Hope the IUI went well! <fx>

@AmeliaBedilia: Missing clear data on key days and food poisoning (especially) stink! I hope your DH's SA is improved and that you don't need that July appt. <fx>

@AmeliaBedilia: We did NOTHING differently. I was *totally* shocked by the BFP. Actually, the only change was that I didn't temp at all for the first time since starting TTC - I knew I was having a follicular ultrasound at my LH surge, and I'm just so sick of temping anyway, so I just decided to forget it. DH went on supplements about two months ago, but since it's supposed to take 3+ months to see improvements in an SA, I can't imagine they had much of an impact. I hope your DH's SA comes back with some improvement, but even if not, I hope you still get your BFP!

ETA: The only other thing I can think of is that I had a saline sonohysterogram this cycle - I've anecdotally heard it can help "clear" your tubes, although not as well as a HSG. Maybe that helped his swimmers out?

@ballerinabee: just finished!! I have a little cramping and have been uncomfortable, but not too bad. Dh's sperm was graded A with 184mil count, but only 22% motility (I think that is what vial said). Let's hope this works!!!

    How are you doing?

@ms.line: How are you feeling? I know you said you thought you were feeling AF coming - clearly those symptoms meant something else! So yes, I am totally asking if you "felt" any differently in your 2ww so I don't go as crazy next week symptom spotting after my IUI!

  7. LibbyLou

    kiwi / 739 posts

@YogiRunner: this wasn't to me but I will chime in! I was a classic tww symptom spotter. I felt Nothing new, I was sure we missed timing. (Dh was traveling on day of O so we only hit 2 and 3 days prior). Took a test before vacation during vacation I felt cramps and the next day I made us turn around so I could get a tampon. Thought for sure it was coming. I had the urge to pee, but it felt like a UTI coming on (didn't urinate after bd on vacation so thought that was the cause). My periods are anywhere from 22-28 days so a day late was not concern for me.
Decided to retest once we got home and !!

So basically convincing yourself you missed it and have zero symptoms to spot. Not even a twinge where it crossed my mind. Really the weirdest thing.
    Good luck to you!

@NorthStar: That is a TON of swimmers! Fx!

@YogiRunner: I had some mild cramping/bloating starting around 7/8 DPO, which I figured meant AF was coming soon (I have a short luteal phase). On Monday (9/10 DPO), I started having bad lower back pain, which I used to get before my period when I was on the pill. I thought for *sure* AF would show up during the day, but she didn't! When I went to bed Monday night, I noticed that my boobs were still very sore (they usually are after O, but then get less sore as AF approaches), and my nipples were weirdly puffy (sorry if TMI!). I tested the next morning. I had intermittent cramping and back pain through the day, and today (11/12 DPO) I have mild nausea and constipation. Today's beta came back at 66. I didn't symptom spot much during this TWW, because I really had no hope, but looking back in my fertility app, I noted cramps and backache on 4DPO - wondering now if that was implantation?

tl;dr - I just thought I was having period symptoms until the night before I tested!

@ms.line: @LibbyLou: congrats! So exciting for both of you! Both of you are giving me some hope for this cycle.

@ballerinabee: I'm doing fine. I'm 5dpIUI today. At the moment I dint feel much of anything, but yesterday I felt some weird twinges that made me very aware of my uterus. They felt a little like the HSG did. Probably nothing, but it made me think.

I just accepted a new job yesterday and gave two weeks notice. It'll bebetter pay and about half the commute, but it's a lot more physical so I'm not sure how it'll go when I'm pregnant! Hopefully they'll be flexible.

@2farmmoms: Congrats on the new job!! Hopefully next week brings you a BFP!

Also, I started spotting this afternoon - just a tiny bit, and very light pink, but I'm freaking out.

@2farmmoms congrats on the new job!

@LibbyLou: thanks! I'm trying to get excited about it. Right now it hasn't sunk in yet. I think it could be a really good job, but I kind of hate that I probably wouldn't have taken it if I wasn't so desperate to get out of my current position! Maybe it'll be perfect! I will be working with my best friend again, so that'll be great.

It's probably just the stress of ttc, new job, etc but I'm awfully emotional. I just watched a video on Facebook about dog bites and kids and I had to turn it off so I didn't start crying at work!

@2farmmoms: I lol at you crying on fb vids. I few months ago I was a wreck watching a comedy TV show and thought FOR SURE it was pregnancy hormones. Nope, just stress. Hopefully it works out for you, and remember if it doesn't, you just get a new job! You never should do something you hate! (At least for very long).

Just got great news from a friend. She has struggled with IF for two years. Pcos issue/multiple cp. She completed her 2nd round of IVF and got blood drawn today- !!! She doesn't know it yet but our DD are a day a part. I was so worried about telling her, now I can celebrate! (I'll let her take the spotlight for a long time though, I'm not ready to go public). Yay for long-timers finally crossing over to the bfp sticky side

@ms.line: I wanted to check in quick and see how you are doing...Any more spotting??

@2farmmoms: You crack me up! Are you sure that these are not preggo symptoms?! Granted it's early, but some of the things you explained seem on par with that. Here's hoping that a lot of us have BFP's soon!!

  18. Mrs. Turtle

    blogger / pear / 1509 posts

@NorthStar: no I'm not sure, but I feel like I've made up symptoms in past months and they turned out to be nothing. Nothing I'm feeling right now is very strong or consistent so I don't tend to trust the feelings. I guess I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. If I do get a bfp this month, it'll be about 5 days before I start my new job! What timing!

@NorthStar: Thanks for checking! Thankfully spotting has stopped and I had a dark line on a FRER this morning. I still feel like a nutcase, though - keeping my fingers crossed for doubling betas tomorrow. BTW, do you want me to add you to the POAS calendar again?

@libbylou: Great news about your friend, and how nice it will be to have an IRL due date buddy!

@2farmmoms - Ahh! Fx so hard for you.

@ms.line: Oh, I'm so glad to hear it stopped. Yes, please add me for June 30. I should probably wait until July 1 (2 weeks after IUI), but I know that I won't be able to!

@LibbyLou: Oh how great! love hearing those success stories.

@2farmmoms: Congrats on the new job!

@NorthStar: So you had your IUI on Wednesday? How'd it go? Welcome to the 2ww

  24. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@YogiRunner: Yes, I did! It went well and man, I was getting uncomfortable from the Clomid. So, it must have been working as both ovaries were sore from Monday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon (the IUI was Wed morning). the TWW is the worst, but hoping for the best!

  25. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@YogiRunner: yes I just started my third and final iui, I'm a bit later than you this cycle, I'm only day 3 on Fermara. Already starting to plan ahead for ivf hopefully the cramping is a good sign!

  26. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@MrsKRB: And the only reason you're later than me is that my LP sucked and AF came early! We're also planning ahead for IVF... RE told me that we'd need the month of July to plan for insurance approvals... so I'm guessing that month is just TI and then we start the big show in August? Do you have a similar calendar of IVF prep or are you doing anything differently?

@NorthStar: Awesome, best of luck!! I'll be joining you in that 2ww in a few days...

  27. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@YogiRunner: yes, same time frame as you except the month of July I would be on birth control to quiet my ovaries I believe.

    Just checking in.

@ms.line: glad to hear the spotting stopped. When will you get your beta?

@sslm @northstar @yogirunner Thank you all! My betas went from 66 to 183 in 48 hours, so I'm feeling a little relieved.

@mrskrb @yogirunner I hope you ladies don't get to IVF, but at least if you do, your odds of success start looking great! Just as an aside, last month I borrowed every book on IF/IVF that our library system had, and the one I found most useful was "The Couple's Guide to IVF" by Liza Charlesworth. I thought it managed to be both informative and accessible.

@sslm Your poor chart. Are you using OPKs? Good job keeping up that BD - I'd be pooped!

@ms.line: Thanks! I'll definitely look into that book. As for a July board, I'm a little hesitant to jump up and volunteer to host it, because my POAS date is on July 6th, and it would be a major bummer to keep up with the board for the rest of the month if this cycle doesn't work, you know? I learned that the hard way once!

  32. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

@YogiRunner: Totally understandable. How about I just add you to the list for now, and whenever someone feels like taking over July, it'll be ready. I want to keep track of everyone!

  33. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@ms.line: my fear with ivf (besides injecting myself everyday) is that if it doesn't work, that's it. There's no other options to have a biological baby. You can put me down for July 11, is be open to starting the July board but would rather wait until June is over to support the rest of our testers!

    @ms.line: yay for good betas!!!!
I haven't been doing OPKs bc my cycles are so long and unpredictable and I feel like that would get really pricey!! The BD is really becoming a chore which sucks so bad.

I'm having "stupid chart syndrome." I O like clockwork on CD15, except about 10% of the time on CD14 (based on three years of charts). The only two anovulatory cycles I've had were each after I took premarin. I took femara once last fall before we knew the morphology was low, and I O'd CD14. This cycle I did femara and metformin. We had (what I thought was) fabulous timing. My temp didn't go up CD16 or 17 (both checked 2-3x). I obsessively checked my temp after I got up and was realized my thermometer was giving bizarre temps. I got food poisoning, so I wasn't able to get a new thermometer until yesterday. This morning (CD22), my temp was down. ????? Does anyone know of femara CAUSING an anovulatory cycle?

In other news, DH had another SA today.

@GoGoSnoGirl: I saw my OBGYN this morning. The FRER above was with FMU, he had me take another test in his office and said it was positive. He sent me for betas, and I have to go back Tuesday.

I'm in complete shock. We've been trying for over two years (not including 6 months NTNP before that), and it just does not seem real.

@AmeliaBedilia: Ugh, it's so hard to believe Fermara would /cause/ an AO cycle. Maybe you're just having wonky temps because of thermometer issues and being sick?? I know it sucks to be feeling in limbo like that. When do you expect SA results back?
