@2farmmoms: I can't believe they just left you a message saying they could no longer see you. How insulting and aggravating! Their reason for not having you use Clomid never made any damn sense. This clinic clearly does not have their act together. If I was in your situation, I'd just take the Clomid w/o monitoring next cycle. I know posters on HB will SWEAR you have to be monitored on Clomid (and that is standard practice if you're seeing an RE) but I took it unmonitored for two back-to-back cycles with no issues (other than not getting my BFP). It's a very safe drug with a long track record.

@ms.line: @2farmmoms I also took Clomid unmonitored. I had zero symptoms! My OB always does it like that- I was still in her care but was going to be switched to RE if I didn't get a bfp this month.
Been thinking of you, and hoping two lines come soon! My wondfo was negative, I took another two days later- it was very faint. Like I thought it was a bad test. Used same urine w FRER and it was pos. keeping hope alive for you!

@2farmmoms: So sorry you have to deal with this. It's ridiculous. Lots of hugs to you!

@2farmmoms: do you have an OBGYN? Mine prescribed clomid to me, I didn't have to see a specialist for it. I still cant believe your re said that to you!!! What jerks!!!!

@MrsKRB: that's what I thought about the estradiol. The only day they measured it was on day 3, and it was 15. From my understanding it isn't considered too low unless it stays low later in the cycle, which hasn't been measured. So at best it's normal, at worst it's low. Either way, I don't see why clomid would be contraindicated. I agree I think it's better not to work with this clinic, I'm just so frustrated with spending a bunch of money and energy and then getting almost nothing out of it. Plus they really are the only option within 3 hours. Really rural here.

@ms.line: I know. I'm kind of floored. The MA called me back today and basically said the same thing on the message but that I could call back if I wanted. Of course she waited to call me until 15 min before she left the office for the day. I didn't want to ruin a good day so I skipped calling her back. I don't think there's any point. I'm glad you said you'd take the clomid. I'm thinking that's what I'll do, but it's nice to hear from others who have been on it without monitoring. Can I ask what dose you took without monitoring? Seems like most people start at 50mg. The original script was for 100mg but I was thinking maybe I'd try 50 to start since it's technically against docs orders.

@LibbyLou: thanks! I still haven't started AF, and my temp is still up. Technically not due to start until tomorrow or Sunday at the latest, but I'm not too hopeful. I feel pretty normal, a little emotional today but it's likely that was mostly in reaction to it being my last day of work and the Supreme Court decision this am. What dose did you take when you took clomid unmonitored?

  8. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@2farmmoms: I didn't have monitoring. I started at 50, the put on 100 the next month.

Dr reviewed some warning signs with me, but left me alone after that. We only met to discuss the next cycle.

@LoveHope: thanks! It's so nice to have a bunch of support on here. Makes it so much easier to deal with when I have to talk to the rude docs office.

@Crystal: well, I saw an ob/gyn first. When I told her I'd been trying 6 months and wanted to look into testing, she said she wouldn't do any testing or interventions until I'd been trying a year. So that wasn't too helpful. I'm not trying the normal way, so I'm not really able to just wait a year while I waste time with my donor. There unfortunately just aren't very many options around here. Luckily, I have the script for clomid already from before the RE decided not to work with us anymore, so I can just take that!

@Crystal: did your doc do any testing before trying clomid? What dose were you on when you got your bfp? Was it just the two cycles that you tried it?

  12. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@2farmmoms: he hadn't, no. But my pcp and re had run lots of testing. Got my BFP in the second month on the 100mg.

@2farmmoms: Just chiming in: my OB/GYN didn't do any tests first either before prescribing Clomid. He just said to come back to see him in 4-5 months if I still wasn't pregnant, because that would indicate a deeper issue. I took 50mg the first month and 100mg the second - had some mild hot flashes but that's it. I only decided to stop taking it because we got our MFI diagnosis.

@ms.line: Thanks! I think that'll be my plan, just to take the Clomid. I'm getting in touch with the midwives and planning for next cycle. Today is day 1. I'll be using a different donor, so maybe that'll be the change we need!

@2farmmoms: Sorry about AF. I hope the clomid/ new donor thing work out better for you.

13 DPO for me. no sign of AF, no symptoms of a possible pregnancy. I'm trying to decide when to test, if I need to that is. I could do a 4 hour hold tonight, or test in the morning.

@2farmmoms: Sorry to hear about CD1. Hope Clomid + new donor does the trick!

@auggiefrog: at 13dpo you should be able see something on a 4-hour hold. I'm a firm believer in peeing on all the sticks

  24. ms.line

@2farmmoms: I took it days 5-9 - my doctor wanted me to have a more "mature" follicle.

I'm out AF showed 2 days early. On to cycle 12.

@2farmmoms: just butting in to say dr wanted me to O earlier, so put me on days 5-9. That didn't help me O earlier AT ALL (and my BFP cycle I O'd at least a day later). For the second cycle, I adjusted it myself to 4-8.

And the saga continues... On the FRER I have a super squinter. Nothing on the Wondfo, and nothing yet on the OSOM, but those can take a bit to develop. I just wish I could get a blaring positive already!

I'm 12dpiui and itching to test. I think that I might in the morning. I have been SO tired and was light headed a few times last week. But, I'm also breaking out on my face like I typically do before AF. I just want to know...

@auggiefrog: my super squinter looked ok
    Ike that! FX!

    @AMommyThang: I'm so sorry.

@NorthStar: not to get your hopes up, but I usually break out right before AF too. On my BFP cycle, I broke out WAY more than I usually do and also had a few dizzy spells. FX!

@ms.line: @Crystal: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Jumping in after a week or so away, and HOORAY for happy BFPS!!!

@auggiefrog: that OSOM yesterday is definitely positive, and I see a squinter on the FRER. I hope you have a sticky bean that pops you a nice gorgeous BFP in the next day or two! <fx>

    @2farmmoms: @AMommyThang: I'm so sorry, ladies.

AFM, I'm so frustrated with my body. My chart is wackadoodle, I have awful pregnancy (or I guess nasty PMS) symptoms, and blaring BFNs on wondfo HPTs. I am REALLY hoping that July will be our last month TTC on our own since DH is taking a new job, which means I can pick up my company's insurance as of Aug 1 and submit for IVF approval. That would mean BCPs in August and hopefully retrieval and implantation in September (DH and I both have birthdays in Sept, so that would be nice timing!).

AF is due sometime between today - Weds, so we'll see what happens.

I have an x-ray guided hip injection scheduled for Weds am if I'm not pregnant, so my silver lining if we fail this month is that hopefully that will help my hip & lower back stop hurting!

@2farmmoms: so sorry to hear the latest. I have no experience with Clomid, so I can't chime in about that, but just wanted you to know I'm really, really cheering hard for you. May the Clomid, plus the midwives, plus the new donor be the right combo!

So much for taking a pregnancy test this morning..AF showed and a day early I left a voicemail for my RE to see if we should move onto our second IUI. I'm so heartbroken..
