@MrsMccarthy: anti inflamatories will delay O, that happened to me when I was prescribed naproxen, think it took 5 days for my body to O again.

@MrsMcD: they are so pricey and I have a CBEFM so I think I might skip them but ask me again if I have more OPK nonsense going forward. Usually I get pretty clear positives. Good luck with the HSG. I'm sorry it's not covered but it will give you a lot of answers and again it could be coincidence but I got KU with my son the cycle after my HSG and there is some thought that it can clear the tubes and make sperm meet egg more effectively in the months that follow. Mine was not painful but my EB was and those are supposed to be about the same. I hope it goes well and all is clear.

@bhbee: thank you sweetheart! I hope you are feeling well an pregnancy is going smooth!

@Snowdrop: oh! Thanks for sharing. I was wondering about that. So perhaps we won't really be out this cycle after all. I don't love late ovulation because eggs can suffer but it would be nice to at least have a chance this month. I'll keep opking and see what happens.

The doctors nurse just called back and said she recommends I see an RE because I'm ovulating and have been trying for 6 months
I think we will take the names of the clinics and try 6 more months, naturally before any more testing. At least it seems I'm ovulating.

@dc yoga bee: Why did she suggest the RE? What are you suspected problems?

  6. MrsMccarthy

    honeydew / 7295 posts

@dc yoga bee: that's good news that you're ovulating. I hope you get a BFP before you have to go back.

@MrsMcD: I have no idea! None that I'm aware of. We're 26/27 and have been trying for 6 months. My only concern was I only have a 10 day LP. I found that very odd. She was just like, doctor said you're ovulating and she suggests you see an RE since you've been trying timed intercourse for 6 months and you are ovulating.

@MRSMCCARTHY: Thanks! I hope you and me both get that this month!

  8. deactivated_account

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts

@dc yoga bee: That sort of seems like a hasty suggestion - that you see an RE when you are young, have no known problems and have only been trying for a few months. Did they say anything about your 10 day LP?

  9. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@MrsMcD: Nope, completely dismissed it. She basically was like-you're ovulating. I've done my job, can't help you, go away was the vibe I got. So, we plan to just keep trying. We at least know I'm ovulating. But, get this- now my ovulation day got pushed back a day. So, the number is actually right on track for normalcy.

@dc yoga bee: Oh many. I'm so sorry, hon. I agree that its good you keep trying for a few more months. It seems like everything is fine so sorry. Unless you are in a huge hurry, just be patient a little longer.

@MrsMcD: In regards to ttc, I'm trying to think of something witty to say with a Keep Calm and _____ on mantra. But, I can't think of anything pg related

@dc yoga bee: you already know my thoughts, but I think you are right on track! There's no reason to think you won't get KU within the next 6 months, so I personally wouldn't spend the money until I hit a year.

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@MrsMcD: Ha! BD on! I don't know why I didn't think of that?!? I went straight to the dirty words.

@septca: I agree. I told DH the results, and he was like well let's make sure we get in awesome shape over these next few months as that might do the trick. I didn't tell him about soupy pasta lunchtime goodness this afternoon!

@septca: Oh, I forgot to add this was while he was ordering nachos for dinner! He said this Saturday we're re-committing to healthy eating. I love that he told me I *must* go to yoga 2-3x a week regularly like I used to. Mandated yoga sessions-um dream come true!! I need to get back into cardio to start dropping some lbs.

Alright, had my progesterone level drawn today and the nurse called me back with the results this afternoon (fastest I've ever heard about a lab before!). The level was 8 point something. I'm day 26, post-O by 10 days, so we expected the level might be a little low, but she said it was fine. However, I'm thinking it might be higher if I was pregnant this month?? (We were testing to confirm ovulation and rule out LP issues because I have had very light and short periods for several months now).

@dc yoga bee: "Keep Calm and Get It On"?

Also, on the LP issue -- not sure when/if you stopped birth control, but my LP was 10-12 days for several months after I stopped and then has over a few months lengthened to 13-14. Not sure if it was the birth control or what, but it did get better without any other changes...

  19. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@sapphire: I just had that some yesterday at 5 (I'm thinking 4)dpo and it was 5.2. I think 2-28 is the range they gave me so you're right in there. According to the range they gave me for pregnant levels it wouldn't necessarily indicate pregnancy,bc pregnancy could be in the lower range as well (i.e 4 and 5). We thought I had a lp issue since I only have a 10 day lp so she checked my progesterone. She said lower numbers still indicate ovulation. I'm gonna roll with it for now.

I've never been on birth control. I kinda wish I had so I could have some indication of why it might be taking a little longer. Maybe I need to lose the 20lbs I gained while studying for the bar..two years ago!

@septca: Thank you for clearing that up. I had the HyCoSy. I'm sorry if I scared anyone! I didn't mean to if I did! What you said wasn't boring at all…quite informative! Not everyone experiences intense pain like that and all the symptoms I experienced… The article does say most people have some pain but some have more intense pain. I guess I was just part of the "intense pain" group…yay.

I go to the MD for a follow-up appt. on Tuesday 6/3 to discuss all our results…blood work, HyCoSy, ultrasounds, DH's blood work and SA. Wednesday 6/4 is POAS day…big week ahead!

@dc yoga bee: thanks for sharing that explanation! Makes sense!
Sorry you have no further answers on the LP issue though. Fx that it wont keep you from getting KU!

@Snowdrop: thanks, that might help in talking to DH. He doesnt mind the idea of an IUI, but doesn't like the idea of the IVF.

@MrsMcD: yep! FX we don't have to reach those points!

@MrsMccarthy: good luck! I hope you O soon. Since the surge was gone so quickly, I do wonder if you geared up and didn't O. I hope it's not too badly delayed.

@dc yoga bee: I don't love the flippant response of the nurse... I agree it might be good to try for another couple months. LOVE yoga, I need to get back into it too.

@nicolechris11212: good luck at the DRs, but FX you don't need it!

I came home today and DH kissed me and my belly for good luck. He is too cute for words, I hope I can give him a good Father's Day surprise.

@septca: Here is my chart, which includes my temp from this morning, too. Before yesterday's temp, FF gave me crosshairs on CD14, the day of my +OPK. I should have guessed, based on the temps, that CD14 wasn't right, but I trusted FF. Had I really thought my crosshairs would get moved, we probably would have tried to BD again on CD18. Oh well. Hopefully O and O-2 is enough this month.

  26. Snowdrop

    pear / 1846 posts

@HeartAbandoned: it is possible that you O'd CD15 and your progesterone adn't had chance to rise enough to get a temp shift by the next morning. Either way, I think you are covered.

  27. AmeliaBedilia

    nectarine / 2192 posts

BFN this morning at 13DPO. My temp is a lot higher despite taking it only 30 minutes late. DH was going to get a SA this morning if I got a BFN, but after tons of calls, I found out that of the three places that supposedly do it, one doesn't, one opens in 3-4 weeks, and the other requires an appointment and they are full today. They have a ton of info on their website but don't bother to mention that an appointment is required. So frustrated!

We are thinking of another POAS tomorrow before stopping progesterone. Thoughts?

  28. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@HeartAbandoned: Hmmmmm. I actually think - based on everything else - that you O'ed on CD15. Which would give you *great* timing. And it would make you 8 DPO today, which means you can start testing anytime now, according to the Septca POAlltheSs rule book...

  29. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@AmeliaBedilia: Sounds like a good plan. That is incredibly annoying about your SA scheduling experience... Gah.

  30. Snowdrop

    pear / 1846 posts

@AmeliaBedilia: that looks like a super hopeful temp rise and you have to be careful with wondfos. 17dpo i took another FRER and it was so dark it pulled most of the dye from the control and as an experiment I used a cheapie in the same wee and it was still really faint.

    nectarine / 2173 posts

@AmeliaBedilia: sorry about the BFN but you're not out til AF in my book! Sorry you can't do the SA today. You need an appointment in our area too because they have to have the lab available for looking at the specimens right away. Your DH also has to abstain for 2+ days so it's helpful to have in the calendar to plan for. Good luck getting it scheduled!

@septca: yes please! I'll POAS 6/4 if AF hasn't started.

@sapphire: Done! I am *really* sorry I missed you the first time - I am not sure how that happened.

Also - I have a really good friend who is pregnant with her third. Her first two kids each took 8+ months to conceive and she had two miscarriages... they really wanted a third and were about to start IVF when they discovered that she had a thyroid issue (not sure why it took them so long...). She immediately went on medication and changed her diet - and was KU with #3 within 3 months. Another benefit - she gained *a ton* of weight with her first two (now knows that was related to the thyroid issue), but now that her thyroid is under control she has had a totally normal pregnancy with #3.

  37. sapphire

    nectarine / 2173 posts

    @septca: Thanks for adding me!
And thanks for sharing your friend's story. My thyroid issue is that my thyroid had to be surgically removed due to cancer. In order to prevent recurrence, I've had to be on super high doses of levothyroxine (which makes conception harder!)...on the plus side, my endocrinologist said it's now safe to reduce my dose to "normal" so we've been lowering the dose over the last few months, but it's a slow process. On the other side of the coin, my endo thinks that since my cycles are so normal and I'm ovulating that my thyroid issues might not be playing a role, but the easiest thing is to reduce the dose, get me normal, and then see what happens.

  38. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@sapphire: I am so sorry to hear that but I am very happy to hear that you have everything under control! FX that lowering your dose helps you.

Welp, just checking in this morning with an unfortunate BFN @ 11dpo this a.m. I feel so distracted and spacey with all these hopes floating around in my head! I really don't do well waiting like this. Last night I had localized pain/cramping down low on my right side. Felt overall just not myself. At this point, I'm ready to just get an answer either way and move on!

@ameliabedilia @heartabandoned : both charts look very promising!

    honeydew / 7295 posts

@septca: thanks for sharing! I am having my thyroid checked on Tuesday as well as the pelvic ultrasound. It was normal back in June of 2013 but I often wonder if it is borderline or changed.

It's CD19 and I got a lighter negative OPK than yesterday. I have a sneaking suspicion that I didn't O and I'm wondering if I will. I hope soon because I'd really like to move on from this cycle where we have no chance really. If I did O on CD17 I caught O-2 but i also had my EB after that and zero BD since. If u see another positive OPK we will dtd. Hell we may even do it for fun!

Also tonight I plan to try to skip my sons nightly feed. Wish me luck! I tried Wednesday night and failed but I feel like I slept better last night so hopefully ill do better. He fell asleep without it but then had a million screaming wake ups so I caved. In a way I'm excited to have him weaned. I can finally do The SoCal cleanse that I bought back in September and then had to skip because it wasn't bfing friendly. I would really like to improve my diet and lose some weight.

@AmeliaBedilia: what a PITA! Your chart looks nice though! Are you still on the progesterone?

    @HeartAbandoned: that's a very nice chart!!! FX!

@sapphire: huge hugs! I can't imagine how scary that must have been. I hope you see a BFP this month!

@organicmama: sorry about BFN. I hope we get good news tomorrow!
