We are going to the state fair next week. It usually is so crowded that you're shoulder to shoulder with people. We haven't used the stroller in forever and don't plan on taking it.
How do you keep track of your lo in crowded places? Holding hands, carrying her, what else?

for me, a bright shirt. When scanning a bunch of people it's hard to make out who is who so I usually try to put LO is something bright and DH in something that's easy to spot as well

We Babywear. I have one runner and one that would go off with strangers in a heart beat.

Hold hands or carry. Sometimes I get nervous so I squeeze too tightly then she wants to let go so I tell her to hold my pinky and that usually works.

If it's shoulder to shoulder we would probably carry her or go on daddy's shoulders. Being so small she'll get trampled otherwise.

We took the kids to sesame place this summer and we were at the water park - DS went off on his own and his shirt was fluorescent yellow - and that is the only way I could find him in a sea of kids!

If your LO is too old for a harness, maybe some kind of a tether (like a ribbon) s/he holds one end of? I know people in the city who do this with older children (they attach one end to the stroller and ask the kid to hold the other in busy places). It gives some freedom but encourages them to stay close.

@PinkElephant: that might work. I don't like the idea of a leash but she is really good about listening to us when we tell her to put her hand on the car when we're in a parking lot unloading groceries. Maybe she will hold a string or something like that for us - like the strap of the backpack I'll be wearing...
