Is this a thing that all kids do, or just mine? If the kids notice that I'm missing in the evening, they will track me down to the bathroom and start knocking on the door. Sometimes I will go in the bathroom because I just want a moment's peace, but I've learned the hard way that it's not possible to be left alone until the kids are asleep!

haha absolutely. My daughter just opens the door when she needs to throw something out or wash her hands. Sigh.
ETA: We have a bathroom right off our family room which is where we all usually hang out. I use that bathroom the most so I can keep an eye on them when it's just me at home.

I don't remember the last time I was in the bathroom in peace while LO was awake...he is usually right in there with me!

@hilsy85: haha my 3 year old has taken to opening the door, coming in and sitting down on her stool and waits for me to finish. *facepalm*

My daughter knows that she's not allowed in mommy's bathroom (and has the run of the hallway bathroom!) but she insists on turning the light on and closing the door for me (and sometimes dh and even grandma!) Sometimes she will stand outside the door waiting for me to be done, sometimes she'll leave.

LO seems to always look for me in the bathroom if he can't find me. I was actually in the bedroom yesterday and came out to find him banging on the closed bathroom door crying. 
He's 14 months.

if dad is missing, where else will he be but in the toilet doing his business for the next half hour?? my DD just sits there knocking and repeating DAAAAD til he's done hahaha fine with me, thats half an hour I can focus on something else!

My DD just learned to open doors, so she busts in and is super proud of herself. She smiles all cute and says "Hi. (pause) MOM-MEEE. Potty?" I can lock the door but that's a temper tantrum waiting to happen so I don't bother...I just enjoy the 45 seconds of peace I sometimes get before she tracks me down.
