Especially for those LOs with late bdays close to your age cut off, do your towns or schools do any kind of kindergarten readiness evaluations?

Has anyone had their preschool teachers recommend holding their child back for kindergarten? Did you? How did you decide? Any regrets?

Pretty obviously background info: my daughter’s bday is a month before our cut off, red shirting is somewhat common in the area. Teachers today recommended holding her and doing another year of preK. I’m concerned that she is really bright and will be bored academically, but I also see she is immature for her age and has trouble sitting still and working through things once she is bored (like, she will write a letter once but won’t fill out a whole worksheet of letters).

I just don’t really even know where to turn to figure out what’s best for her.
