Moving to Seattle and becoming an editor and living in a really cool loft. Once I graduated, I felt disenchanted with publishing buy maybe that was an excuse. Anyway, I got into education and met my husband so I am very happy with that. I still have many other goals and dreams.

I wanted to be a big shot TV director. Then I realized I didn't want to claw my way to the top and do shift work forever.

I was just being in a mood about this earlier today. It gives me some guilt because as a teen I had so many things I wanted to see and do, I can remember specifically thinking that I didn't want some boring life like I felt like my parents had. Yeah, my life is almost exactly like their. And it's a good life, and I'm happy, and I love my husbands and sons so much, but I'd be lying if I said that I never have what if sort of thoughts where I wonder what could have happened if I had chased my dreams instead of listening to everyone tell me that they were unrealistic.

I've always really wanted to start my own business with some products I have in mind, unfortunately money talks.

For years I wanted to be a photojournalist or if not that, a fashion photographer. I chased photography dreams for a little while, but ended up going down a different path. Instead, I just get to take pictures of my kids.

I wanted (still do) to be a meteorologist, but when I went to college I decided to do Ad/PR. Schools in Kentucky didn't offer atmospheric science at the time. Now they do, including the university in my city, but I'd have to completely start over and take out loans.

Also wanted to live in NYC and be an artist... got into a school up there but decided not to go because of a guy.

I have always dreamed of living and raising kids abroad. My husband has no desire to do this at all so it will never be but I got a compromise in that he has promised to do what he can so that we can travel as a family as much as possible.

I wanted to be a Disney Imagineer and design new attractions for the parks. I also wanted to write a novel.

I had a scholarship to our countries leading hair/aesthetics school. I told my teachers to give it to someone else because I wasn't interested in attending secondary school immediately after high school. I wish I could go back and kick my ass and tell myself what a HUGE opportunity I would be giving up.

I just wanted to have a fun summer/year off. Which didn't end up happening anyway and now I'm in a career position that isn't my dream and I have no idea what else I would/should do! Stupid, lazy, teenage asshole, I was!

I had a lot of wanderlust when I was younger. I wanted to travel the world and take photographs for National Geographic or something.

Then a hurricane came and I had to move to a new completely new place and starting my life over took priority. Then I met D, and next thing I know it's 10 years later and I'm working a very stationar job expecting my second child. I'm happy, but it's very very different than the life I thought I'd have. I feel like my 20 year old self would be gawking at my 30 year old self in complete unrecognition.

I also really wanted to own my own cafe for a long time, but I thought that would take much time, commitment and money away from my family.

I wish that I had spent a summer or more living in Russia after I graduated with my degree in Russian. I busted my butt to learn the language and then never used it, what a waste. I didn't want to spend the money or be apart from my husband or any of that, but now I really regret not pushing myself to do it before I had kids. We'll travel there someday, but still, not the same.
