I did (saw the 9pm showing) and I really liked it. I didn't re-read the book so maybe I couldn't be nit picky.
I didn't particular like the first Hunger Games movie because the book was so fresh in my mind when I saw it.
Anyway, I want to see it again!!!

Question for those who have seen it - was there an Insurgent trailer during the previews? Or was it just the teaser trailer they've already released with the nightmare/fear sequence thing with her mom in the burning house?

We went to an AMC theatre and they always tell us that we can go to their website to see all of the trailers, but I looked and I don't see the Insurgent trailer listed. Maybe it's not released yet.

I did and thought it was amazing. It may be my favorite of the three, for all there's a completely different kind of action in it and the others should have been more thrilling. Loved the song The Hanging Tree.

@wonderstruck: saw it yesterday - the Insurgent trailer was just the teaser with the mom in the burning, floating house (I haven't read the books or seen Divergent so I have no idea what I'm talking about plot-wise though, haha)

Haven't seen it yet but I am excited to see it! I think mockingjay will translate better on film than in the book honestly it was my last favorite if the 3. But I have a feeling the movies will be great!

Saw it Saturday night. The Insurgent trailer was only her mom in the burning house, not the full trailer.
I really liked the last book and I loved the movie, and they cut it pretty much where I thought they would. Can't want for the 2nd half to come out next year! DH hated the last book and he said the movie was better. He really liked what they did with it.

@GreeneB2: Yeah, I didn't like the last book but loved the movie. I can't believe I have to wait a full year to see part 2.
Also, the movie was a little over 2 hours long. They could have made it a little bit longer to add some more scenes. I really want to see a little bit more when the movie ended. I was sad that it was over. C'mon, give me more!

@bluestriped bee: Yeah, I loved the last book but know that I'm in the minority. This movie was actually the shortest movie out of the three (it was just over two hours, while the other ones were around 2:20 or 2:30), and I would have loved more. And Peeta's my favorite character so I would have loved more of him (and Johanna). But I love what they did with Effie's character!

@GreeneB2: Yeah, I'm re-reading the book now and I do like what they've done to Effie and how they've adapted the movie with Phillip Seymour Hoffman's death.

@bluestriped bee: Yeah, I think he was supposed to say the "I miss coffee" line that they gave to Effie, and in the 2nd book they gave the part that he didn't film to Haymitch. There's an article in Vulture about it. It's so sad. It was nice that they dedicated the movie to him.

Okay, no one else has mentioned this so I guess I will. I really didn't like the movie all that much. It was slow and had very little action. I get it, they're building up to the "second" movie but I think it was a waste of money. They could have made a great third movie and instead they decided to rip a book in two and make two mediocre movies. Yes, I'm guessing movie #2 will be mediocre, as well because it's just half of a book. I wish we hadn't gone to see it and had waited till it was on video.

@mediagirl: I enjoyed that it was more build up and less action. But the District 8 stuff was almost exactly as I envisioned it from the book. I think they did a great job with that!
