Can I just tell you how happy I am for all the naming posts today? I'd never leave the bee if it was this naming centric! So great
I wish I could name babies all day and get paid for it.

Oh good! I rarely start posts but we recently found out we are having a boy and are so stuck! Maybe I will start that thread...
pomegranate / 3516 posts
I thought about starting another poll with all of the new combinations I've thought of now but I feel like I already sounded crazy with how many names I like in my thread.

@Reese: start a new thread!
@BelugaBean: I promise I will never tire!

@Reese: you are having a boy???!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!
(Sorry to thread jack!)

Lord knows we are stuck, and going back and forth! We decide on a name, and then I no longer like it a few days later.
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@dc yoga bee: I know that feeling!
Is there any barrier the hive mind can help you break through? The hive has helped me sooo much!

I'm (more than likely) done having babies, and that's one of the main things I wish I could do, name a baby! I love thinking of names.

@Mrs. Jacks: haha I don't want to thread jack but since you asked .We decided on Ella, and aren't telling family. I told the midwife, she said it's sweet. The chiropractor said its sweet. I don't want a "sweet" name. I want something with a little bit of spunk, since if she's anything like me she's gonna be spunky! I don't mind popular names, but I don't like traditional names (other than Olivia). Ava and Gwyneth have also been on our list. I got tired of Ava, and just no longer like Gwen.

@dc yoga bee: spunky names, huh? That's a fun challenge. I soooo wanted to have a girl named Frankie!

@Mrs. Jacks: This will sound super creepster (or like I read too much HB!) but I was reading something the other day and saw the name Galen and thought "this sounds like the style of name Mrs. Jacks would like".
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@ShootingStar: not creepster at all. Thanks for looking out for me. Galen is a very medically related name. Very appropriate to think of

Other spunky names for @dc yoga bee: that I've been mulling over the last couple hours are Kit and Phillipa (Pippa). Will think of more.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
Phillipa is a old boss' name lol! Our last name starts with a P, so it takes out all the good ones-Pippa, Piper, Penelope, etc...
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@dc yoga bee: damn. P names are so perky... But unless you are Piper Perabo or Parker Posey, it's a tough sell. Too bad, I really liked Pippa for you. I'll keep thinking.

@Mrs. Jacks: lol I know right! Thanks for helping. I thought for years it would be Ava, but honestly I'm tired of it!
ETA: We like Zoey, but our last name ends in ley. DH says Zoe without the y is Zo. Double y=double whammy?
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
Mimi, Lola, Thalia, Tessa, I had one more but can't remember!
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@dc yoga bee: double Y is a little tough... But if you like Zoe, consider Zara or Zora. Both are spunky but lovely. Mr jacks was smitten with Z names for awhile. I liked Zinnia but he nixed it.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: lol!! Our last name has a r in it so we try to stay away from first names with a r too!
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@dc yoga bee: you challenge me so much friend! It makes me only want it more
pomegranate / 3521 posts
@californiadreams: Yes! eiiii!
@jedeve: Similar to a boy thread that was just posted - I will probably start a thread (classic, strong, unique but not too unique) when I have more time to be around I will start a thread

yes, naming posts are so fun! Dh and I talk about what we would name our kids if we ever had more. It's fun just to dream and talk about names!
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: I'm sad I'll never get to use my perfect girl name... I love it so!
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: you can't say that and not tell us?!??
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@Reese: I'm just super obsessed. I usually have people tell me a little about themselves and their style and then I can dream up names for hours. A few people here have even taken my suggestions, which thrills me to no end. There are also a couple Bees who are so good at naming that they helped me name my younger daughter--- there is great expertise in the group!

@dc yoga bee: just happened about your Ella sweet/ spunky thing- I know a two year old Ella who is the spunkiest, sassiest toddler I've ever met. She is sweet too, but when you meet her you don't walk away thinking of that, you remember her sass. (In a great way)

@dc yoga bee: How about:
Roxanna nn Roxy
Josephine nn JoJo
Vivian nn Vivi
Juniper
Elodie
Edie
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Foodnerd81: I know personality can "make" the name, and she can totally still be spunky. I also can't help but think of the chick-fil-a cows for some reason when I think of Ella
@lawbee11: I like Stella, but can't help but think of the movie "how Stella got her groove back" every time I hear it lol. It makes the name waaay too mature for me!
@lady grey: I liked Edie. I just read the list to DH, and he vetoed them all. I liked Corienne too, but he just nixed that one as well.

@dc yoga bee: arrgg he is tough!
@Mrs. Jacks: me too! love the resume ready names with spunky nick names!
