Oct. POAS Pumpkin Babes!

Pretty sure I'm out, ladies! My chances weren't great, so I'm not surprised, but a little sad. My glow app is saying that AF should be here Monday. If I was preg I definitely would've gotten a bfp today, but I got my last bfn. We probably won't start actually trying until November, so I'm going to sit out next month. Good luck ladies!! I'm rooting for all of you!

@photojane: I know that you probably understand your body better than anyone else, but I wouldn't rule it out until AF actually comes.

@photojane: I'm sorry to hear it I know how gutting the bfn can be to see. Sending loads of luck for the rest of this cycle - and also the next one if AF does show up.

@photojane meh is it stupid if I still cross my fingers for you until you really get your period, or is First Response so amazing that you'd for sure know by now?

@runnerd you're not a bummer! glad to get a real-life story, thank you. this stuff is so incredibly unpredictable, and wow, yes there are a lot of us post-m/c women here.

Going to throw a question out there--my temp rose this morning and I'm a little worried that I might have already ovulated, despite 5 days of absolutely negative twice-a-day OPK testing. I think I might have seen EWCM on Thursday, but barely any (and it could have been leftovers from sex Weds night, is that graphic enough/jeez). I didn't time sex so well since I was sort of trying to save my chips for when I expected better CM and some glimmer of hope on my OPKs, which have worked very well for me in the past. Typical cycles are 27-28 days, last month after the D&C was 25 days. Should I just sit down, shut up, DTD and wait? What do y'all think?

Whoa that is a huge graphic, sorry. Trying to figure out how to link to fertility friend... new in town here.

I didn't test today, but I tested yesterday and BFN, it's starting to get hard to constantly see those. No sign of AF either. My boobs have been and still are super super sore, not sure if that's a sign of AF or maybe a magic bean? On CD 42, I keep telling myself my cycles will regulate, but it looks like I'll be making a doctors appointment soon.

    persimmon / 1071 posts

@LCTBQE: After 5-6 months I'm still trying to figure things out too! I don't chart, so my advice is to BD all the time, and wait! haha. Good luck lady!

@marley: @Nutella: @illumina: @BandDmommy: @MrsDragon: thanks for the love ladies! But, it's honestly and truly okay! We weren't even "trying" this month. I did get a little hopeful (and subsequently disappointed) because I've got the fever some kind of bad, but with my husband's job up in the air, it's not a great time. It's for the best. I'll be back!

@LCTBQE: yeah, I would at least have a squinter by now. But, the PMS monster has begun to show her ugly face anyway, and my cramping is a sure-fire sign that AF is right around the corner.

@photojane: I hope that you get your BFP soon I know how hard it is to have major baby fever and for it not to be the right time yet.

  14. Nutella

    persimmon / 1045 posts

@LCTBQE: I'm not sure myself - how sure are you on the OPK results? Sorry I.m no help, hopefully someone else here can weigh in!

As for me, I'm out this month! Had suspicious AF like cramps last night, and spotting this morning (of course the spotting literally only started after I had taken a test ) so just waiting now for AF to arrive in all her glory.

I'm pretty upset, but mainly just because I was banking on this stupid super-fertility even though I know it still comes down to luck still. For our amazing LO, we had to try for 3 months with great timing (but several more while I figured out that I had long cycles and late O), so I'm guessing I just have to keep on trying!

Still, such a kick in the guts! I feel so silly for thinking that the second pregnancy would come so quickly

@Nutella: ugh sorry lady, it's a sucky feeling no matter what. I know what you mean, I got pregnant NTNP first month trying for #2 and I thought, wow the universe is rewarding me for a rough go for #1, then of course it was m/c

  16. Nutella

    persimmon / 1045 posts

@runnerd: how crazy, I'm sorry you also had same experience! I guess it's good cycle has regulated now back to 29 days. First cycle post d&c was 41 days!! I am going to make the most of some nice red we have at home - not usually a huge drinker unless it's a big occasion but I feel the need this weekend! 🍷🍷🍷

  17. LCTBQE

    nectarine / 2461 posts

@nutella oy vey, that sucks. I was really rooting for you. maybe the super-fertile thing is not as prevalent as everyone says...

I've been testing with opk's since CD9 (now on CD 13) and they're completely negative, not even getting slightly darker, so wondering if I'm going to O at all this cycle, since mine are on the short side. last night I went to dinner with a friend who suggested the old "stop paying attention to it and it'll happen" method. guessing that isn't really the style of anyone here

  18. marley

    kiwi / 706 posts

@Nutella: sorry! I'm still rooting for you though. Spotting isn't always AF.

@LCTBQE: I've been testing with OPKs since CD 7, using Clear Blue Advanced. The package says use FMU but some people say to use in mid day. Ugh so confusing.

  19. LCTBQE

    nectarine / 2461 posts

@marley I'm doing both FMU *and* afternoon/evening, and nothing so far. Last cycle and the cycle I conceived (July) I got super clear, unmistakable positives from testing in the afternoon, even though it's not very convenient to hold it and not drink anything for 4 hours in the middle of the day. But, worth it to see the smiley face.

@winterbee do you use OPK's, too? sorry about the disappointment of the BFN. sore boobs + no period are still hopeful, though.

  20. Nutella

    persimmon / 1045 posts

@LCTBQE: thanks chick! I'm a bit blah still BUT I'm reminding myself that with the MC cycle I wished so hard I could have just had a negative test rather than a positive test that went badly....as for taking your mind off it, that was his I eventually got pregnant with LO! Stopped charting & OPKs, just got down with DH regularly through the good times and it worked! I can't say I was more relaxed, I was just a bit jaded by then! I hope I don't have to get super jaded this time too - haha. I'm sorry your opk are playing tricks - how likely is it that you just didn't O this cycle? If you're using digital ones, maybe try the strip ones to see if they get darker? Fingers crossed for you!

@marley: thanks for the support! I used those advanced ones this time too - and just used them once in the AM. They are different to the other digital ones that only measure the LH surge, because they track the oestrogen too, you need to use FMU. That's my understanding after lots of research. What CD are you on?

    Cycle Day: 21
    TTC Cycle #:1
Ovulation and POAS dates: ovulation 2nd october Poas- 12th,14th,16th and 19th (af due)
    Baby #:3
Your plan this month: to surprise hubby with a pregnancy!!!

  27. mrschickpea

    clementine / 928 posts

@WinterBee: I still haven't O'd yet on CD 24 And my OPK's are showing no sign of getting there soon. Can you move my POAS to 10/26? Its our wedding anniversary and hopefully I will ovulate in the next 4 days or so

  28. Hazel27

    coffee bean / 27 posts

    Cycle Day:
    TTC Cycle #: 4
Ovulation and POAS dates: O date was 10/4, POAS date probably 10/14, but that's early. AF is due 10/16
    Baby #: uno!
Your plan this month: DH was in the field for most of the ov time except for my exact date, he came home that morning lol. So we bd'ed that day. Had pos OPK the day before. Then he left again lol. I did pineapple core for first 3 days post ov, ate chicken liver and taking prenatals. Diet improved with higher veggie intake and cut out caffeine and alcohol completely.
For Fun: What are you being for Halloween? This year I'm passing out candy! We have tons of neighborhood kids and last year I couldn't because it was DH's redeployment ceremony so I was picking him up from that. I can't wait to see the kiddos this year!!

@nutella so inspiring to hear the old-fashioned way really works! it's weirdly calming to me that you weren't necessarily more relaxed trying it that way. like, somehow knowing you are free to just feel how you really feel is what is truly reassuring. anyway, thank you

I've been using the cheapie strips and the clearblue digital OPK's and they're all white as a sheet, so either my O is going to be really late, or my body's skipping it this month. New plan: less monitoring, eating better, and going running along the brooklyn waterfront. I've been twice and it feels so good to be out looking at the skyline again.

@futuremama sorry for the reason you are here, but welcome!

    @hazel27 @surprise pregnancy hi, welcome

@LCTBQE: your plan sounds awesome! And running along the Brooklyn waterfront - I want your life! (NYC has been top of my travel list for a while now - recent events like baby & general life have pushed it back a bit, but will get there one day soon if I have to swim there 😂🌃🌉🗽)

I'm super frustrated! My period has been super regular since LO #1. Lately I've been under s ton of stress. My period is too weeks late! (And no, not pregnant right now. So of course I'm waiting for it, so that we can DTD!

    Ugh so annoying!!! Come already!!

  36. Nutella

    persimmon / 1045 posts

@wheres_c: How annoying for you! I have previously used acupuncture to regulate cycles back when I was TTC for my LO. I was a lot more stressed back then in hindsight, so almost certain that played a big part. Good luck!

I believe I am out too.... I'm on cd28, still no af BUT FF changed my o date to cd 23 (?? so late for me!!). And FF is saying i'll have a 33 day cycle, which I haven't had ever.

I thought I had o'd cd13-cd16. I took a HPT yesterday and BFN so I think I must be out. IF I o'd when I thought I did I'd assume I'd have a + by now (I'd be 12 dpo). We didn't dtd at all around cd23 so I must be out and just having a long, weird cycle?!?!?! wth?

Thankfully I have my yearly exam Thursday so maybe i'll get some answers/help. Is there something specific I should ask for? I've seen clomid mentioned before? anyone have experience or advice on what to bring up/talk about/ask my ob?

  38. Nutella

    persimmon / 1045 posts

@Ajsmommy: that is weird indeed...long cycles can be so tricky when you're ttc! Were you keeping track of CM etc? Not sure what to ask the docs - maybe just tell them your story and see what they say!

  39. Ajsmommy

    pomegranate / 3355 posts

@Nutella: ughhh... I swear I used to have regular cycles UNTIL TTC... LOL. Now they are just plain crazy! Since I've been tracking this has happened: 18, 31, 24, 26, 22 and now 33 supposedly?? just seems odd when they used to be 24-26 days.

AND I had spotting this month which I *had* hoped was implantation but it seems FF interpreted it as ovulation bleeding instead, which I've never had before???? AND my bbt went up this morning?? I feel like I should have gotten a + yesterday but I didn't

eta: yes I keep track of cm and I temp. I use ovia and fertility friend. FF says I o'd on cd23 and will have a 33 day cycle and ovia is telling me to test again today... ??

  40. Hazel27

    coffee bean / 27 posts

@Ajsmommy: I had FF do that to me a couple cycles ago. So frustrating! It changed my o date from cd 16 to cd 20. I ended up keeping track as though I o'ed on cd 16 and sure enough I got AF exactly on time. I'm always a 28 day cycle and always o on 15-16, so not sure why they changed it, but like I said I got AF exactly on day 29 like always, so it must've counted one of my dips in there as o.
I hope it works out either way. Tww is so frustrating.
