Background: I was diagnosed with PCOS during the summer of 2013. I had ovarian cysts over 10 years ago and went on BC to help. So i probably "had" it back then but no one put two and two together. I went off BC to get pregnant and almost instantly gained 25 lbs. i was eating healthy and exercising so this was a shock.

My OB put me on Metformin to try and get pregnant and I hated it and it didn't work. In Feb 2014, I did the whole fertility clinic thing and they recommended IUI to likely be followed by ivf. I declined and moved forward with adoption and now I have my fabulous son!

In the meantime, I saw an endocrinologist who put me back on yasmin (my OB wouldnt, because of the blood clots) and encouraged me to try metformin again. It once again didn't work, and she told me I had three options left: Victoza injections, an appetite suppresent and just doing it on my own.

I've been on the victoza injections for a while and they're fine but nothing earth shattering is happening. My clothes have gotten looser but I could attribute that to my 4x a week crossfit and even healthier diet than before.

That said, all of my PCOS symptoms are under control -- acne, hair loss, and cysts -- EXCEPT for the belly fat. Most of my body is muscular and toned and then I just have this chunky belly that will not go away. In terms of the number on the scale, I actually don't really care. I'm smaller than I was a couple years ago, but "heavier" because of my muscle gain. But I'm working too damn hard to be stuck with this tummy.

I have to go back to the endo soon and decide whether I want to stay on the victoza or just "do it on my own". An appetite suppresent is silly because I already eat healthy and need calories to fuel my difficult workouts and heavy lifting.

Am I all out of options? Has anyone tried anything else for PCOS, especially the abdominal weight gain?
