My BFF's hubby just had a vasectomy this week and it's got me thinking more and more about our family taking the final steps to closing the factory.
DD1 is 2.5, DD2 is 7 months and we're done. Totally done. Don't want anymore, until we talk about DH getting the big V and then I chicken out!! I have an IUD right now so we're good for quite a few years but I just can't pull the trigger.
How/when did you know it was time. What measures did you take?

We are 99% sure we are one and done. We are going to wait until Brady is three. If we still feel the same, DH will get a vasectomy.

I'm still working on LO#1, but I can at least share what my parents did.
My mom was on bc and unexpectedly got pregnant with my brother. They weren't really in a financial position to have a new baby in the house, and were not trying to have a baby, so to avoid any future surprises they opted to have my stepdad get a vasectomy.

Hubs has a consultation on December 2 
We knew we would be done after having 2, so we got some recs from our doctors and he found one he "liked" after researching online. Unfortunately, his first opening for a consult is 1+ month away! I was on the mini-pill, but I am off it now because we're too exhausted to bone, anyway. Whomp whomp.

Most of my friend's DH's had vasectomies
I had a c/s and so I had a tubal - we knew we were done and it was such a relief knowing I wouldnt need BCP or condoms ever again!

After we have our 2nd, we're done. DH is already talking about making sure that when he gets snipped, he plans it around March Madness so he can spend the entire weekend watching basketball.

@Ra: Same. Except I think it's more like I'm 99%, Hubs is about 70%. So we're waiting a bit longer to see if I really think I'm done.

@Mamaof2: If we have a #2, I will most likely be getting this done. If you don't mind me asking, did it prolong your C-Section by much and do you feel any different afterwards?

@Aimed: It only took a few minutes to snip the tubes and she was done.

DH got a vasectomy right away after DS was born, but we do have some embryos still, so it doesn't totally close the door. And I haven't had the heart to stop paying for the embryo storage : /. Permanent BC is definitely nice though! I never have to worry about BC or pregnancy every again...

I'm pretty sure we're done....DH is 100% sure, but he's the one who is balking about getting a vasectomy, basically because he's just being scared of the procedure. I've basically told him that after two hellish pregnancies and c-sections, I've done my part and the birth control is on him, so until he's ready to get a vasectomy we'll be using condoms.

@wonderstruck: Sounds like my husband. He doesn't want to get a vasectomy because of the procedure, but I feel like it's less invasive than a tubal!
We're probably not done, but when we are, I really hope DH will consider the old snip.

@coopsmama: Yeah, way less invasive! I feel like it's only fair since we're the ones who go through pregnancy and birth. It's his turn!
