What details have you picked up from blogs & parties that you incorporate in your parties?
I'm a huge fan of striped straws. Although IZZE sodas reinforce party colors I wouldn't incorporate them because less glass around my clumsy fam & friends is best.

I pretty much model all of my parties off of what my mom did growing up! One year, she got a bunch of rope and taught my whole class at school how to sumo wrestle... now that was an awesome party!!

Mason jars. I use them for decoration for parties. I'll wrap a ribbon around them to incorporate the color scheme.

@mediagirl: @Mamaof2: Ah oops, didn't mean to confuse you guys! We just used it to try and recreate the circular ring that the sumo wrestlers push each other out of.

I get a bunch of ideas depending on theme but usually my execution is much simpler! Mostly easy decor like a banner or decorating a cake.

I did the rainbow layer cake and a surprise in side cake...those were the last things though, because I just don't have the time to spend pinning things any more.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: not Pinterest in particular, but I used google images (some of which were Pinterest) and copied them totally for our LOs second family party for her first birthday.
That was because it was a total last minute thing (was supposed to be a casual immediate family only cake and ice cream thing that morphed into 40 ppl invited to a rented hall thing---4 days before!). I just didn't have time to get creative, so I essentially copied all the cheapest/easiest elements of circus parties I saw online. Ha.

I don't have any good pictures on my phone of the other wall (without family in the pics) but I also had the photo banner made from the month pics, the 1 number made from pics, etc. all ripped from Pinterest!

@Leah: thanks! It was almost all dollar store and party store stuff. And Amazon prime shipped stuff, haha. And snacks from the grocery store. Eta: and a homemade cake and cupcakes. Well, homemade from a box, haha.
