Omg. Some random dude in a minivan dropped off my Amazon Prime shipments at 9:20pm and rang the doorbell! (That's just a whole 'nother post)
So of course the dog went berserk and I'm surprised she didn't wake LO up.
That being said do you put up a sign when LO is sleeping so ppl don't ring the bell? Why do deliveries have to ring the bell any way?
I thought I remember someone posting a easy hack to "turn off" the doorbell at night?

We used to post a sign. Our UPS guy knows we have a kid and remembers not to ring, but he once reminded me he isn't always on our route. He said posting a friendly sign would be a good idea during nap times!

DH loved it when I gave a stern mommy look to a delivery guy saying that the baby's asleep. LO's usually slept through, but we have a lot of noise being a condo sandwiched between one above and below.

Ugh. Even if they don't ring the doorbell the dog still goes nuts and wakes the baby. I posted about this once and somebody commented that they wanted a moat around their house

omg I hate that. we've got a wireless receiver thing for our doorbell, and it turns out at least 2 of our neighbours have the same thing. so... if someone rings their doorbell, ours goes off too.
...even if the neighbours are having a party and someone is ringing their doorbell every 10 minutes for 2. straight. hours.
I've taken the batteries out of the receiver and ductaped the doorbell so people don't ring it

Ugh, I would lose it! I put a sign OVER the doorbell saying not ring it and to drop off all shipments at the front door or call my cell upon arrival.

That sucks! One of my packages arrived at 8:45 tonight. My dog went crazy but LO didn't wake up...whew!

We have a no soliciting sign and a no doorbell sign... they get ignored by everyone except USPS, Fedex, and UPS.
I about turned the hose on a CenturyLink (cable/phone) guy who was being obnoxious yesterday. He would not leave and just kept talking and freaking the dog out. Now I'm trying to figure out how to keep a bucket of water on a rope over our door for the next time...

We have a sign that says not to ring the bell or knock ! It has been up since LO was born ! I have seriously wanted to hit someone with a closed fist for waking him up (ha- aggressive much?) namely, a mayoral candidate who was going door to door to let ppl know he was running. Not okay !

We put up a sign during the times LO and I are sleeping. Our dogs are just too nuts over the doorbell not to!

We had a sign for a while before we realized that our bell has its own breaker in our circuit box.... so we just turned it off.

The sign over the doorbell is key. I used to have one on the door and it worked for the regulars, but a lot of people ring before reading... Out of frustration one day, I took a sticky name tag and wrote "do not ring" and stuck it over the doorbell. Not classy looking, but it works! Anyone who ignores that is in trouble!

Our doorbell used to be broken, not sure why DH fixed it 
Usually I notice someone is coming because the dog warns me, so I get outside before they can touch the door.

We've gotten amazon packages late at night like that too, which I find ridiculous. Our dog doesn't bark so we haven't posted a sign but our sitter has and no one has rung the bell since she posted it.
