I'd probably only do it this year (LO will be 22 months in December) if DH or I was really into it. The distance wouldn't deter me at all, but LO isn't particularly interested in trains and we haven't read the book yet.

We are taking our boys (DS#1: 2yrs; DS#2: 4 months) this year, although I think it's only 45 minutes away. I think starting a tradition like this is perfect at any age!

sounds like a blast, but i would try to make a longer trip of it since it's 5 hours driving! even if i stopped somewhere an hour away.

Last weekend we went to Disney on Ice and I wasn't 100% sure that H would be into it, or that it would hold her wild attention span, but she LOVED it and watching her look so fascinated and getting so into it just made my LIFE. It was one of those times as a Mom that I think I'll always remember:)
That may or may not happen, but I would do it just to try my luck because if she does love it, you will be over the moon watching her love it:)

If I had the money I would with both my LOs. Ages 2 and 9 mos. it's quite pricy though. /: wish it was cheaper considering I live maybe two miles from the starting point of the train...

@lawbee11: WHAT ?!?!?!? My city isn't listed and we have the original train and do the polar express thing. I've touched the original train. Lol
