How long did you bleed for and how heavy was it?
My procedure was a week ago and I'm bleeding heavily, I'm really weak and just this morning, I was passing tons of clots. I even blacked out in the shower and I'm pretty light headed.
I had my blood drawn for a blood count and iron check so I'm waiting on the results. Does this seem normal?? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I didn't feel like that at all...my bleeding was long (5 weeks) but no blacking out. Please call your doctor.

@junebugsmama: I did - he ordered the blood draw so we're just waiting on that... I was hoping to get some reassurance in the meantime but it doesn't seem normal

Sounds like anemia and potentially low blood pressure.
If it was me I would make sure to be drinking a lot and eating some good high protein foods and taking iron. Iron takes a while to build up again in your system once you are low.

I never bleed heavily after either of my 2 D&Cs. I bled lightly for @ 2 weeks or so. Check in. Blacking out doesn't seem normal.

Did you get an ultrasound? I had only mild bleeding after my D&C but then 10 days later, I started having heavy bleeding, clots, and a ton of pain. I got an ultrasound and it turned out I had some retained tissue. I didn't end up needing another D&C but they thought I might at first. It took another week for the bleeding to stop after that (so 3 weeks post-D&C was when I was finally done). But no blacking out or anything quite so scary. I hope your doc figures it out!

@catlady: that sounds similar to what I'm going through. I honestly think I'm losing tissue still??

The blacking out doesn't sound good, hun. I'd be definitely getting in touch and just running it past them. xx

I bled lightly for a week. If you are losing a lot of blood and there are clots, this sounds like it could be retained placenta. Make sure you monitor how much you are bleeding and go into urgent care or ER if you are filling a pad in an hour. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

@HLK208: sorry I should have written more... I was neglecting trouble with my toddler at the time! I meant it more along the lines of that doesn't sound normal and less "don't ask hellobee ask your doctor". I am so sorry you are going through this. When I went through my miscarriage I felt like not only did I lose my pregnancy but I have to bleed and be in pain too???? Insult to injury.
I hope everything is ok and there is nothing retained but most of all I hope you feel better so you can truly heal.

And yes, I just want to feel normal again.
My numbers came back normal so I'm just going to try to take it easy (as "easy" as I can taking care of three kids). My doctor thinks I probably haven't rested enough since the procedure.

@HLK208: I bled lightly for about 10 days. I am so sorry this is happening to you. Take it easy and if it doesn't get better or gets worse go get checked out.

What happened to @catlady: happened to me too. Left behind some tissue from the D&C and I started having contractions so badly I couldn't speak through them and was vomiting. HUGE clots. Didn't end up needing another D&C because I passed the last of it while in the ER waiting to be seen.
It was scary but totally fine in the end. It sounds like you already spoke with your doc, so hopefully you're just resting and healing.
