Anyone considering any reconstruction/plastic surgery postpartum? I was thinking that some day I'd like a breastlift, but I guess I didn't realize that meant you had to get implants and I'm not sure I'd like that. Also, my mom just had a reduction and it gave me the jitters about plastic surgery. I didn't realize what a major surgery it was!! I guess for now I will keep shoving my floppy boobs in a push up bra.

In theory, I would love to have a reduction someday (shoot, let's throw a tummy tuck in there, too), but I don't think I could ever actually do it because (1) I would be scared of having elective surgery when I have littles who need me (even my last c-section freaked me out a little); and (2) just the cost of it--I'm kind of cheap about big things and I would just rather spend the money travelling or doing fun things.
Even though I can't see myself actually going through with it, I'm of the opinion that if if makes you feel comfortable in your own skin and you're not basing your worth on that, go for it.

I lost almost 100 lb when younger which greatly impacted my breasts, and kids have definitely made them much more saggy. I have researched a lift, and may do it in the future. You can get a lift without implants, the implants are more fore looks and to refill the breasts.

Truthfully, pre kids I kind of rolled my eyes at it. Now o totally get it. I don't think I would for the same reasons as @Mrs. Blue: but as long as you can afford it and it makes you feel more comfortable, whatever.

I will get my diastasis recti fixed if it doesn't go back after LO2. I think I'll end up with kind of saggy boobs but they are also small so not enough of a problem for a boob job. I really don't like the idea of foreign objects in my body! Creeps me out !

@travellingbee: I have definitely thought about getting a breast lift in the future. However, I also do not like the idea of having implants.
I am ok with my stomach after having two kids but if I am not after possible #3 I would consider getting a tummy tuck.
I would also consider getting botox. These fine lines on my face are popping up and I am having a hard time accepting them

I would definitely like to get my diastasis recti fixed when I am done having kids. I will probably never have the money though.
My DR is about 3 fingers wide from just LO1 and from what I read each pregnancy makes it worse and it pretty much requires surgery if it is bigger than 3 fingers wide.

If I didn't have HORRIBLE reactions to surgery, I would get my DR fixed/tummy tuck and breast reduction.

@DesertDreams88: I'm in a DR group on Facebook and there are a lot of ladies who have reduced their large gaps with PT and exercise. I also have a three finger gap and am looking for a PT to help me with it. I've done some exercises and am just concentrating on not making it worse right now because I'm still so newly postpartum and I know my body tends to bounce back more when I'm not nursing.

@avivoca: what is the name of the group? I'd be interested in joining if possible. There is so much conflicting info out there on the internet! I looked into getting physical therapy back but stopped pursuing it for various reasons.... I have a consultation with a new OB scheduled for February, maybe we'll discuss it then!

B) Fear of pain/surgeriesSooo as much as I'd love to not have a flabby stomach and pancake boobs... I guess I'm stuck with them

I'd consider it. Perhaps a very very small implant. I wouldn't want to go larger than my normal size pre pregnancy. Just to get some oomph back. I feel like they are so small and flabby now that they don't match the rest of me.
I feel like for the extra 10 lbs I am carrying, I could actually do the work and get into the shape I'd be happy with, but that doesn't really work for boobs. -
@avivoca: Im very curious too about exercises I can do that will help and not hurt DR. 3 kids did a big number on them.

@DesertDreams88: @T.H.O.U.: There are a couple of different systems out there (Tupler Technique, MuTu, etc.) that are supposed to help. My midwife recommended Tupler to me, but from everything I've read on the internet, it works until you take the binder off and things go back because your body starts to rely on the binder. I've heard good things about Carriefit and Momma Strong but I haven't done either of those. I modify my OTF workouts with the help of the trainers right now, but absolutely no planks (can do side planks), no crunches, no oblique twists/twisting motions, nothing that makes my stomach pooch out and I try to always be mindful of holding my trans abs in. Now that I have my new insurance card, I can check to see about physical therapy.
The group I'm in on Facebook is called "Diastasis Recti Support Group." There are a lot of ladies on there who have had tummy tucks/mommy makeovers to fix their problems, but also a lot of women who are going the PT route.

I would totally consider it. I'm not sure its in the cards mostly due to money and I'm sure I will always come up with much better ways to spend the money. If that wasn't an issue, I'd definitely being getting them done post baby #3.

Yes, I would consider it. Particularly, I got awful stretch marks with DD (despite gaining only about 23 lbs and 8 of that being baby) and I'd like to have them lasered. I'll wait until we decide whether we'll have a second.

@avivoca: @DesertDreams88: I did PT for 2 months to try and correct my DR and it closed about half a finger but I still felt pretty discouraged afterwards. Maybe if you can find a physical therapist who specializes in DR it would be better.
I have since bought the MuTu system and on week 4 it's gone down a finger (it's a 12 week program). It's pricey but I got it on sale, which helps. I also make it a point to not do crunches, planks, mountain climbers, burpees- lay down on my side then roll onto my back, etc.
I'm totally going to check out that FB group.

If I was really not happy with it and I had the money, I would.
Somehow I swear my boobs got even smaller after having my second baby. Eta- I don't think that's a thing I would fix, though, but other areas if they weren't "fixable" by diet and exercise, sure.

I would consider it if I had DR, for sure. I don;t think I would for anything else though.

I contemplated a boob job, but then had my gallbladder removed at 14 weeks postpartum, and decided that I would never elect to have surgery, ever. The recovery was relatively fast (about 2 weeks), but it was so painful.

I would consider it depending on maybe baby #2 does to my body. I feel generally good about how I look. But it would not be till 10 years or so down the road I think.

A bit different, but I will most likely have surgery to fix the umbilical hernia I got when I was pregnant with my daughter. I'll wait until I'm definitely done having kids, but I will most likely take care of it.

@avivoca: I found this to be super helpful in preventing and repairing. http://thediamethod.com it's really simple and didn't require stuff or to much time. I need to get the postnatal set to start. I don't have that much of a gap but I feel like I could make it worse from carrying lo1 who is 35 pounds.

For anyone considering implants, I recently came across something called "Breast Implant Illness" that was brought up in one of the FB groups I'm in, and it scared the crap outta me - http://healingbreastimplantillness.com/ - I had no idea this was a thing.
Apparently, a lot of women have suffered from all types of auto immune type diseases as a result of their implants, and they feel instantaneously better once they have them taken out.
