Xander (boy) was 2.5 when we potty trained him. Logan (boy) is almost 3 and showing no interest in potty training.

My son was easy. We waited until a few months before three. We did an hour here or there of no diaper. Then full mornings.. etc. Accidents were super rare... he peed a lot but almost always made it to the potty. He always waited to poop in a diaper and was afraid to go. So we would just wait him out. It would be time to nap but he had to poop so we wouldn't give him a diaper. Took a few days of dramatics but he was fine. I think the key was waiting until we thought he was ready.

With my son we had a few false starts, we tried starting at 27 months and it was a disaster. He just wasn't ready until a couple months after he turned 3. He was fully pee trained by 3.5 and was pooping on the potty a couple months after that.

Our pediatrician was very adamant about not forcing it. If he isn't ready then he isn't ready. She didn't want him to have any negative associations with the potty.

We waited until DS1 was 3, sinc ehis new brother was born @ 2 months before he turned 3. It was a long process to be poop trained, but we made it!!

We are going through this with our 3 year old now (he just turned 3 on Sept. 6th). We had a small window around 2.5 when he was super interested in the potty, but we didn't capitalize on it because we didn't think it was "the window" - we just thought oh cool, he's into it. Well, turns out it WAS the window and it slammed shut quickly and after that he resolutely was NOT into potty training at all.

We just eased off it and let him be, for the most part, and just tried to make it a positive experience whenever he decided to go. We had him sit on the potty every night before bath time and for a long time, that was basically it. As we approached 3, we found character underwear he was pumped about and put him in them whenever he was at home with us. Accidents were frequent, and we just asked him to be a big boy and tell us if we need to go potty.
Suddenly, after he turned 3, he started telling us when he needed to poop. And then after that, we told him to let us know about pees too. In the last 2 weeks, he's been pretty good about it at home, totally self-led by him, and so we're taking the plunge to undies at school now.

I'm hopeful that DS2 will potty train sooner than DS1 by wanting to be like his big brother. He's 16 months now and we'll probably have him start hanging out on the potty pretty soon here and see if we can snatch up that early window this time!

Both of my boys were fairly easy to potty train (within 2-3 days). I didn't read any books and just followed tips I found on Hellobee. My first was ready before he turned 2, but I was pregnant and not ready to potty train. DS1 was 26 months old, and DS2 was 32 months old. Main reason why I didn't potty train DS2 sooner was because I like to wait for summer when I can let them strip down to just their underwear.

DS was easy. We potty trained him right after he turned 2. We did our own version of the 3-day boot camp, and it worked like a charm. He was trained that weekend.

I have 3 boys.
My oldest basically potty trained himself at 23 months when he saw his older cousin using the toilet.
My second started telling us he had to poop at 18 months. It was winter so we waited until spring to potty train right after he turned 2 (like a week later).
My third just turned 1 and he says "stinky" whenever he poops. We are not attempting the potty yet but I am hopeful that he is aware and will also train early and easily.

DS was in undies by 20 months, but had a seriously hard time with staying dry at night till he was either 3 or 3.5. DD fought all my attempts at training till she was 2, then got it in a week. She started staying dry through the night the same month.

My son was pee trained at 2 years 5 months, poop trained at 2.5. He is still in a pull up at nights and for naps, but will only have an accident during the day once in a blue moon at this point. I really hated being told "boys are harder" and "Boys take longer." At about age 2 I started putting him on the potty to pee before bath. 90% of the time he'd want to get off almost immediately, but something clicked around 2 years 2 months and he started going once a night before bath. When I then went whole hog with it he understood when I said "go pee pee" what he was supposed to do physically. I think it really helped that we slowly started that way. I don't know that it would have been that much different were he a girl, but I think he was pretty ready and there was no pressure to do it (from school or home) so it really helped us feel like we didn't have a timeline? My son was not particularly difficult to potty train. We started Presidents‘ Day weekend when he was 2.25. I figured if it didn’t work we’d try again 3 months later on Memorial Day weekend. But we didn’t need to. He mostly got it the first weekend. Our biggest problem was pull-ups. We started using them because we were afraid of accidents in public, and daycare insisted.

After a few weeks i decided to put him in undies at home full time except naps. He made it the whole weekend with no accidents so when I brought him to school I told them he’d been dry for days and he was in undies now except for nap.

Poop did take a bit longer and for a while he would poop in his nap pull-up. But then we found a bribe that really motivated him and he started pooping in the potty. And consistent overnight dryness took almost another year after we started. But he’s been dry very consistently since just after he turned 3 and he’ll be 4 in a few weeks. Now our biggest challenge is teaching him to wipe after poop. I’m tired of 6:30 weekend wake ups because he needs his butt wiped, lol.

Also, I have a friend who potty trained her son practically the day he turned two and they had no problems. I told her our biggest mistake was pull-ups and I think she followed that advice.

DD1 is almost 3 and not fully potty trained~

Both of my boys resisted until around 3. After then, it was relatively easy.

My oldest son was potty trained at 2 1/2, and was fully day trained in 1 day.

My youngest is almost 2 and I'm not starting potty training with him yet, but I can definitely see him being more difficult!

DS was fully pee trained by 3. Daycare helped a lot with this since he had to be fully out of pull ups to go to the next room.

Poop is another story. He ca do it but we keep going through cycles of daily accidents. He just started again a couple days ago after at least a month with no accidents. He will be 5 next spring.

Just after 4 he night trained as has not had any night accidents.
