LO is 25 months. We've had a potty seat that goes on the toilet for a month or two, ever since she's been talking about potties, etc. She is in day care a few days a week and in her room, kids who are actively training use the potty with help, I'm pretty sure it's talked about frequently. The teachers take her to try as well, but I don't think much has happened at daycare.

For a couple of weeks she'd just sit on the potty maybe once a day. Not much happened but she was excited to sit and talk about who else goes on the potty.

Last couple of days at home, when we put her on (at her request) she seems to pee. She's getting it. We don't consistently put her on - more like, before bath sometimes, sometimes in the morning, when we have a few minutes.

This morning she peed - great! Then she wanted to sit there and she pooped! It was no big thing to her - she was just happy.

And then we flushed and went and put a diaper on.

I'm wondering today - is it a problem if I don't take advantage of her willingness and try to get her out of diapers right now? We wanted to just introduce the concept now and wait and see what happened, maybe try more formally in the spring. I was just thinking it would be easier to do in nicer weather when kids have less layers on, we'd be playing outside a lot, etc.

But it seems like if she's doing so well, I'm worried by not seizing the opportunity I might be screwing up.

Any advice or similar experiences? What do you know now that you wish you knew then? Will I screw it up by keeping her in diapers and just encouraging potty time?
