I have a pre-conception appointment, although I feel like they didn't mark it as such, because my doctor asked if I wanted to renew my birth control prescription, haha. I did have a pelvic exam, but that could be because I was due for one in general (it had been two years since my last one).

I think it's good that you have your questions ready. It sounds like you're prepared! Are you planning on TTC soon? I had my exam in September and wasn't planning to TTC until January, so I asked my doctor when I should start taking prenatals and when I should go off birth control (as soon as possible and as soon as I want to start TTC were the two answers I received).

@highwire: Ahh, yes, sounds like you should get some more information! Let me know what you learn incase I need to make some changes.

I asked my OBGYN about TTC at my annual exam (since we were planning to start TTC the next month after my exam). She gave me a booklet the state produces on which fish are good to eat during pregnancy and which are bad, and then said to start taking either a prenatal or folic acid supplement. She said I didn’t need to alter my life in any other way, including during the TWW, and to call her in a year if I wasn’t pregnant (later revised to 6 months only due to my husband’s age).
