    @raintreebee: I'm so sorry, I read that thread but didn't comment. Praying that everything ends up being just fine, and that you can at least get a little bit of peace of mind throughout this pregnancy.

    We've had several recent graduates from IF to PG, so I thought this might be a good thread to revive! Hope you all are doing well!

    @kentuckygirl: thanks for reviving this thread. I was looking for it just the other day. As of today, we are officially 8 weeks and while my RE said 8 weeks is somewhat of a pregnancy milestone, i still i'm kinda nervous and i was wondering what /how other ladies in my shoes may have felt at the same point.

    @Apex: I still felt nervous. Just keep reminding yourself that you're preggo!

    Congrats all you ladies! So many new grads. It's exciting!

    @twodoghouse: thanks for asking NT scan is Thursday, so at the moment, I'm irrationally nervous for that. I'm doing better overall...trying to transition from "utter panic all of the time" mode to something that resembles normalcy. It's hard, though! I have rough days, but it's getting a little better. And it's feeling a bit more real, because my stomach is definitely popping! How are you?

    @Apex: wow, 8 weeks! How are you feeling? I think about you and those 4 beating hearts a lot. Has it sunk in yet?

    @marionberry: @Grace: thank you I love how many new people are on here!!

    pear / 1786 posts

    @LovelyPlum: Yay for 12 weeks!!! Best of luck at the NT scan on Thursday!!!

    @twodoghouse: I am feeling pretty good at just over 4 weeks. I have already felt some vague nausea when my stomach is empty, so I am trying to snack to avoid that. How are you feeling?

    @LovelyPlum: Nope, it still hasn't quite sunk in yet. One of them is measuring smaller than the others, and i'm passing some "stuff" my RE says its some vaginal tissue and not to worry about anything....easier said than done!

    @tequiero21: I know, i feel like its too soon to be 8 weeks too, but my RE said ivf dates are calculated different.

    @tequiero21: @kentuckygirl: Thank you ladies! It still feels like yesterday that I was dealing with IF but we're SO happy to have our son in our lives. Some nights parenthood is rough but then I remind myself how lucky I am to have this opportunity and it gets better.

    @apex: I had to go back and read the ivf thread to see that you're having 4 babies. Wow! I think the fact that you've gotten this far with four healthy little ones is a really good sign you'll deliver four healthy babies. I just feel for how your body is going to feel at the end. I wanted to be find early with one lol.

    @twodoghouse: I haven't gotten a chance to say Congratulations and welcome to the group!

    Can the new joiners perhaps give a quick update on current status, # of babies they're pregnant with, which IF they fealty with etc? I've missed everyone's stories since I wad delivering when you got your bfp's.

    @Apex: You are having 4 babies?!?! Holy smokes, that was a mighty successful IVF! Congrats!

    @marionberry: quick update on me!

    I'm 12w5d with a singleton and due in April. I was diagnosed with secondary IF after back to back m/cs in April and May.

    My journey has been shorter than most, as we only started TTC in March of this year, but it's been a bumpy ride none the less. We got pregnant this current time without additional interventions after an HSG in July.

    I had a rough first tri-an ectopic scare and lots of spotting-but all is well, and we've seen the little one on u/s multiple times. I'm supporting with P and baby aspirin, and so far, things look really good. Slowly trying to move to the point where I'm not terrified and can enjoy this little one!

  26. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

    @LovelyPlum: Yay for your NT scan this week. Try not to worry too much, I'm sure everything is alright in there!

    @kentuckygirl: I also get the nausea/dizziness when my stomach is empty, but not full on morning sickness so I'm counting myself lucky. My biggest symptom is just outrageous exhaustion. I've noticed it's really bad after I eat. I think my body can't keep up with growing two babies, digesting a meal and keeping myself awake, haha.

    @Apex: Wow, 8 weeks already! I think about you, your DH and the babies all the time. Hopefully that's not weird, but just know that your quads are getting so much extra love and good vibes from us HB ladies!

    @marionberry: Thank you for the welcome. Hearing you talk (write?) about your son makes me so emotional. This has been such a long journey and there have been times when I start to lose sight of the end goal. That it's not about "beating IF" but about growing our families and at the end of this, we get to take home our beautiful little LOs. I will type out my status/story in a new comment since this one is so long already!

    Here's a little rundown of our IF journey:

    My husband and I are both about to turn 29, married for a little over 5 years. We started ttc in February of 2011 with no luck. In the summer of 2012, we started going through testing with my OBGYN. HSG was fine. SA was fine. My OBGYN started me on bromocriptine to bring down my prolactin and then 50 mg of Clomid.

    On round 3 of Clomid, we hit the 2 year point of ttc and I was over it. I made an appointment with an RE to see what our options were.The RE strongly suspected endo (especially since my sister had just been diagnosed through a lap) but said he recommended skipping the lap, treating me as though I had endo and moving straight to IVF. We decided to go with that plan, although we decided to wait a few months (until after the vacation we had planned).

    In August, we started the injections for a long Lupron cycle. At my first monitoring appointment, my RE was shocked to see that I was nearly ready to go. I came back the next day to check my follicle growth and they told me to trigger! It all went so smoothly. We retrieved 12 eggs, 8 were mature and 6 fertilized. We did a 3 day transfer of 2 embryos and one ended up making it to freeze.

    We found out on Sept. 28 that we are pregnant with twins! We saw both heartbeats that day. I will be 8 weeks this Thursday and I have another ultrasound next Monday (Oct. 7) and as long as everything's ok, we'll be released to a regular OBGYN!

    TL;DR version: nearly 8 weeks pregnant with twins after IVF!

    @twodoghouse: twins??!? Congrats!! I secretly want twins!

  29. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

    @LovelyPlum: I'm so glad to hear that with P and aspirin everything has been going great. I think I finally started feeling a little more at ease around 12 weeks but I didn't have any issues in the first tri at all. You'll never stop worrying completely but it should start getting less especially after 20 weeks when you see that u/s.

    @twodoghouse: Aren't you so glad you went to the RE? I know we were! What a fabulous IVF outcome! Twins will be a lot of work in the beginning but twice the amazing baby love! Pregnancy goes so fast, especially once you graduate from the RE so try to really enjoy time with your DH. Good luck on your next appointment!

    I think this may be an ok place to ask this question... After struggling to get pregnant and 3 rounds of clomid, we finally got pregnant last summer (yay!). I ended up having a somewhat difficult pregnancy, starting when I experienced a subchorionic hematoma that landed me in the er with very heavy bleeding at 12 weeks (exactly a year ago yesterday!). Since the year anniversary has just passed it has been on my heart recently, and I wanted to write a blog post about my experience...the fear that we had when we went to the hospital and thought we had lost the baby, and the subsequent bedrest, ultrasounds, and monitoring that went on for the rest of the pregnancy. I have never had a miscarriage, so I want to make sure that talking about the fear and emotion associated with thinking i was having one (but ended with a healthy baby) may hit a nerve and come across insensitive...? Obviously I understand that the hours of terror I experienced cannot compare to the immense grief of losing a child, but I feel it may help someone to hear my story. What are your thoughts?

    @Mrs. Lion: As someone who has had 2 m/cs, I would definitely welcome your post. I think the worst part of the whole process is when you find out something is wrong and you aren't sure if the pregnancy is going to progress. You understand what it feels like to be there, even though you had a happy ending.

    @twodoghouse: @LovelyPlum: @Apex: @kentuckygirl: Congratulations ladies and welcome to the thread!

    @Mrs. Lion: I would appreciate your post too. I had a chemical pregnancy and am now in a very high risk pregnancy (Subchorionic hematoma, 1st percentile PAPP-A, 99th percentile AFP indicating placental insufficiency). Maybe it is just the benefit of perspective, but the pregnancy complications have been far worse to deal with emotionally than my earlier loss.

    Had my 20 week anatomy scan today. The baby is in the 70th percentile so that is a HUGE relief b/c we are mainly concerned about growth issues (although we are also at very high risk for preeclampsia and other issues). I think this means we likely avoid having to deliver very early (like < 25 weeks) so we are incredibly happy.

    @raintreebee: What great news!

    @mrs. lion: I don't have experience with a miscarriage, but I think sharing your story could be very useful! I think maybe approaching it as "your pregnancy journey" could help people to hear everything you went through.

    I'm so happy for all the new graduates! It's so funny how it comes in waves.

    @Mrs. Lion: I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing the difficulty and the fear you went through. A lot of us here experienced miscarriages, whether they were chemical pregnancies, or further along, and I think that allows us to be more empathic for what you went through. I would for one would not be bitter or resentful that you didn't actually have a MC. And I do think it could help for people who are experiencing scary pregnancies to see that it can have a happy ending.

    Current status: Pregnant with quads from IVF. We transferred 3 and got 4.
    We tried for a total of 18 months before we gave up and went to an RE, I was fine, but DH had a minor motility issue. The RE gave us the option to continue trying on our own, but i think DH and i were tired of trying naturally, so we went for it. We actually tried 1 round of IUI and when that didn't work, we went straight for IVF. Which brings us to today.

    Anyways, we are 8 weeks and about 2 days today, all 4 babies are doing great with strong heartbeats, and so am i. Of course with the exception of the morning sickness i've been dealing with since week 6, fun.....

    @raintreebee: great news! I'm so happy for you.

    @Mrs. Lion: I think a lot of ladies would welcome that. I've been on both sides-lost two, and ended up in the ER with this one, fearing an ectopic. The terror is real with both, and I think your experience would be very valuable. I would definitely like to read your experience.

    @ShootingStar: this!

    @Apex: love hearing about those quads!! Hang in there, Mama, hope you are feeling better soon.
