forgot about this board, but glad i found it today.. i'm 10w2d and just so so nervous and worried all the time. every one of our appointments have been great -- first saw the heartbeat at only 6 weeks, saw at ton of movement at 9 weeks, numbers good, etc. but now i'm done with my RE and with OB and our next appt isn't until next Friday. i don't know why the idea of waiting 2 weeks for an appointment makes me worry that something is going to happen.. but we planned on telling some more family on Christmas Eve and right now i'm just not feeling incredibly confident.

the friends i know who got pregnant with no troubles told people right away -- like 5 weeks! why am i so worried?

sometimes i feel like i'm just getting large, like maybe my clothes don't fit bc of dinner the night before, or all the carbs i'm eating. i just want to be confident and stop checking for blood every single time i pee..

i do truly believe this is our baby and some days i feel excited and connected, but today i'm scared..

@littleredhairedgrl: I felt scared until about 20 weeks, so you're not alone, but I also told close family at about 6 weeks. My thought was that if anything happened we would need those people to lean on. Plus personally I think it's important to embrace your pregnancy and do your best to live in the moment. Right now you are pregnant and your little one is steadily growing. That's something to celebrate.

@littleredhairedgrl: I'm so sorry that I'm just seeing that. Like @marionberry: I really didn't feel confident for a long time, like maybe 16 weeks or so, and then I had another freak out right around 20 weeks. In fact, I had one just this week at 24 weeks It's so, so hard to trust. I'm excited that you've graduated to the OB, though! I hope that yours is responsive to your concerns. Even though they're not REs, many are so supportive and understanding of what we've been through. Call them if you need, even if it's before next Friday.

You have to do what feels right, but if you want to tell people, do it! Every baby deserves to be celebrated, and every Mama should know that she has the love and support of those around her, no matter what. If it feels right, tell people; if not, don't. Either way, know that you are pregnant, and enjoy your little miracle as much as you can!

PS-I still check for blood every time I pee, but that impulse slowed down somewhere after my nuchal scan at 12 weeks. Now, I mostly just look out of habit, and the few times I've seen it, I surprisingly didn't lose it. You can do this, lady.

@littleredhairedgrl: hang in there!!! I felt like that for a long time. Honestly, until I heard her cry I really didn't believe it was going to happen. You just have to take it one day at a time and remind yourself that this pregnancy is different and there is no reason why this pregnancy won't be successful.

Hi there.. Thought I'd join this board today. After 39 months of trying, including 1 M/C, 4 IUIs, 2 IVFs and 2 FETs (and back surgery in the middle of the 2 IVFs), I got a positive Beta on Christmas Eve and had my 2nd Beta today; my numbers are "rising beautifully" according to my RE.
It's still so early, will be 5 weeks tomorrow, but I'm so grateful and thrilled and want to tell EVERYBODY! I don't know how I'll get to the end of the 1st trimester before telling people. Thankful that this board is here!

@littleredhairedgrl: How did your appointment go? I keep forgetting to check this board more frequently. I hope you have enjoyed the holidays with your little one growing magically inside of you. And that your OB appointment went well. It was so crazy to switch from the frequency of RE appointments to the 4 week gaps between OB appointments. I had lovely nausea to remind me that I was pregnant. But I feel like the worry of everything we had been through kind of stuck with me until at least the second trimester.

Adding myself in here. We were just in the middle of getting our diagnostic testing for IF stuff when I got my BFP this morning! I had 2 MCs and a brain tumor that I had surgery for last year that impacted my hormones, so we got the IF referral in late November. DH just found out he had motility issues last week too, so we're super shocked by the BFP. Both our MCs were early losses (6-10 weeks) so we are really nervous, but here's hoping!

I just wanted to share with you ladies... I had my first ultrasound today and there is a heartbeat! 150bpm, and everything is measuring right on schedule. Its a bit unreal

    @msmug: Wow! Congratulations!

@littleredhairedgrl: Congrats! And hang in there. When you get those days of fear, just keep telling yourself that you are pregnant. Eventually, you'll start feeling kicks and you'll feel far more confident.

The clinic called me in to get my beta tested today. I have to go in Thursday for my second. Fingers crossed - I'm feeling hardly any symptoms today while yesterday I felt thirsty, headachy, cold, tired, and queasy! Today I woke up just fine, feel pretty normal except a little bloated. I'm paranoid because my first MC was a missed MC that we didn't find out about until 10 weeks. Looking back, my only clue was that my symptoms stopped one day, so I'm trying not to get too wigged about it.

    honeydew / 7230 posts

@gingerbebe: Early on my symptoms would come and go and it was so scary, but everything was ok. I'm crossing my fingers that everything will go perfectly for you!

@Mrs.Someone: That is so wonderful to hear about your u/s! What a relief!

@gingerbebe: I had that experience with one of my losses and know how it feels...it's scary. But it's also normal for symptoms to come and go, so I had to keep telling myself that this pregnancy is not any of my previous pregnancies. I hope there's someone at the clinic who you can call if you're feeling particularly worried!

    First beta was 58.
Second beta 48 hours later was EXACTLY 116.
Having a third tomorrow plus progesterone testing. Hoping the bean has a little higher of a number!

Had my 3rd beta draw today plus progesterone level testing. Will get results Monday. Of course crazy over here took a CBED with weeks estimator an hour ago and its still showing at 1-2 weeks. The threshold over to 2-3 weeks is 156 mIU, so that freaked me out a little. A doubled HCG level today should have been 232 mIU so I'm just hoping its a blood vs. urine discrepancy.

  33. kentuckygirl

    pear / 1786 posts

@Mrs.Someone: I am doing well, thanks! I am 18 weeks and impatient to feel baby &/or see him again at my 20 week ultrasound. I am dealing with a nasty cold right now, but otherwise feeling good. Thanks for asking! Are you having any nausea?

  34. kentuckygirl

    pear / 1786 posts

@gingerbebe: good luck! Blood levels would be higher than urine levels, so I don't think that test would be accurate at interpreting your doubling time.

  35. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@kentuckygirl: Glad to hear all is well! Ugh, I think everyone around here has a cold! Mine is almost over luckily. I do have all day nausea, but nothing too severe at least. Eating usually takes care of it luckily.

I am so behind on this thread!!

    @msmug: @gingerbebe: congratulations!! Welcome

@Mrs.Someone: I think I commented elsewhere, but I am very excited for your little bean's heartbeat

@gingerbebe: I hope that you get good results tomorrow.

I go in for my glucose test tomorrow, and I am really nervous about it. I was on Metformin for a few years for slightly elevated A1C, and diabetes runs in my family. As a result, I'm not really all that optimistic that I'm going to pass, and I'm freaking out a bit about what that means for my eating habits/rest of this pregnancy/labor and delivery. I'm trying not to be crazy about it, but it does worry me. Hoping the worry is all for nothing!

Hi! Progesterone came back at 25.6, so relieved about that. HCG levels I need to call for tomorrow so here's hoping it's doubled again. On phone so will type more later!

@LovelyPlum: I'll be thinking of you tomorrow! I have a friend who is doing the pregnant diabetic diet right now, and as much as she hates it, shes doing well. I hope you don't have to do it, but I know you'll do great if you do!

  39. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@Mrs.Someone: thank you! The test itself was OK-at least I didn't throw up from the sugar. I'm curious to see how the results will be. I should have them tomorrow-guess we'll see then.
