As I type this I am sitting in L&D. I am 35 week 3 days today. They are trying to stop my labor so my little guy can bake longer. I am pretty freaked out because I am already 3 to 4 cm dilated. They suspect that an infection has jump started labor. I am hoping to go home tonight but I will be on strict bed rest until my doctor says otherwise.
I guess I am just looking for a little support and good thoughts for us.

FWIW - M was born at 36w0d and did not even need to go to NICU and came home with us 4 days later. You've already given your LO a great start!

I had a preterm labor scare at 34w5d and the doctor on call said they were going to try and stop my labor (it stopped on its own but I wasn't dilated or even in real labor like you are) and he assured me that even if they couldn't they felt confident that the baby would be just fine if they delivered him. Don't worry!
still hope you get to go home and rest but don't stress!

My doctor isn't on tonight but her associate is pretty nice. I just have my fingers crossed that little E bakes a little longer.

I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks. It took a couple days to stop the contractions and I got up to 5cm dilated. But I was able to go home on bed rest and kept LO in until 36 weeks, she was super healthy and didnt need to go to the NICU.

Update: looks like E will be coming sooner rather then later. They can't stop the labor. I am really freaked out.

@MrsRcCar: I know everyone and every baby is different, but 2 of my closest friends have gone into preterm labour and had their babies at 33 weeks and 34+5 weeks respectively, and both are doing great and positively thriving!! Staying positive is the way to go!! xx

Update #2. I am 9 cm but comfortable. E is handling labor very well. I feel pressure but it isn't bothering me. I can't believe he is coming this early but everyone keeps telling me that he will be fine. He will have to go to special care nursery but hopefully for only two hours. As long as he is doing ok, we will be able to keep him with us for a while.

Update #3. E arrived this morning at 6:03 am. He is in special care nursery but he will be ok. I can't wait to see him soon. They will let me see him shortly but they want to make sure that I am stable first.
