When do you stop? Did you wean or just stop? I told my OB at my first visit (9ish weeks - post-RE) but forgot to ask about stopping. I see her again this Thursday but wondering what to expect.

My RE said I could stop at 10 weeks. I think with my first I just finished what I had and that put me at 11 weeks. With my second I think I stopped at 8/9 weeks? I was so tired of feeling gross and my OB said it should be fine because my progesterone numbers were great.

Both of my OBs said it was fine to just stop, but I weaned by taking it every 36 hours for a couple of days, then 48 hours, then dropping it all together. I waited until 13 weeks with my first (after NT scan) and I think 11-12 weeks with my second. Both of them was also when my pills ran out naturally.

@DesertDreams88: Yeah I run out tomorrow/Wednesday, have my NT scan and OB appt Thursday (NIPT already came back fine). Would love to be done!

@LindsayInNY: I doubt it, but I’m always so sick of taking it I can’t wait to stop! Although I think I did 12 weeks with my first. I do progesterone shots to help prevent preterm labor starting at like 16 weeks, so I’m sure you’re fine

@LAZB: Thats what I figured - some people keep taking it. I think I had stopped by now with DD. I don’t remember when but felt like it was early so maybe 9-10 weeks? I don’t have any side effects it’s just gross and annoying lol.

@LindsayInNY: From the other side, because of my history of loss (one that coincided with me discontinuing progesterone), I had my levels monitored throughout my last pregnancy and continued on it for 37 weeks.
Any chance your OB might test your levels before you stop taking it?

I stopped at 12 weeks with both fresh and frozen transfers. I stopped the day I was told to and didn’t phase it out - was so ready to be done!

10w for me. That stuff was expensive and I was running out. For many it’s a “just in case” thing anyway so I wouldn’t worry unless you have a known issue.
ETA pretty sure I just stopped.

I stopped at 9 weeks - I had been told I was going until 12 but at 9 I had my levels tested and they told me I could stop. I didn’t wean or anything, I just quit cold turkey.

12 weeks and I took it upon myself to wean for just a few days. This pregnancy I will be doing oil progesterone injections to prevent preterm laborat 16w or so, so I never get away from it. Luckily it doesn't faze me one bit.

My RE had me stop at 10 weeks which was also when I transitioned from the RE to my OB.

I stopped right at 10 weeks after I transitioned to my OB from my RE. I had enough to get me to 11 weeks but I was sick of the mess and my levels were good enough that it wasn't needed
