We are going to a wedding shower tomorrow. It's a very casual family pool party type thing for a mutual friend of ours. The request has been that we bring some alcohol to "stock the bar" for the wedding. My question is, are supposed to wrap it? Bring a card? Neither? What would you do?

I've heard of stock the bar home warming parties but never someone trying to stock the bar for their wedding from the guests, that's interesting..... I wouldn't wrap it or bring a card just hand it to them when I got there.

Maybe one of those little cute hang tags to tie around the neck with Best wishes from X. I wouldn't worry about a card or wrapping though.

Wait, it's actually FOR the wedding? I've been to "stock the bar" showers but it's always to stock the couple's new home. I would be very confused about buying alcohol to be served at the wedding. I guess I would just buy whatever I like to drink

Oh, dear; that's...interesting. I wouldn't wrap it; I mean, it isn't a gift. I know it's a shower/party, but you're bringing them something for them to use later, not really a gift.
I would bring something super cheap and then make sure to remember to bring a little flask of whatever good stuff you like to the actual wedding!

I'd bring the bottle and put a bow around the neck of the bottle. I'd also attach a tiny little card to it.

I've been to a shower like that, it was fun. There was an adult-sized bouncy house! We brought what we like to drink, plus a big handle of a crowd-pleaser (I think we did a regular bottle of bourbon and a Costco-sized bottle of grey goose?) and we attached a gift tag and ribbon.

@psw27: @Truth Bombs: @Mrs. Sunshine: I have been to one like this. It was a housewarming/stock the wedding bar. I am not sure how much they actually used for the wedding though. Cause they got a lot of random stuff. I just stuck to vodka at the wedding.
I would just bring a bottle with some ribbon around it. -
I just went to one. I put a gift tag right on the bottle. No wrapping or card.

What about a mixer with a handle of something? I'd put it in a gift bag.

I love those parties! I'd just put a bow/tag around the neck of whatever bottle you give.
