I just read "Ready Player One", which is kind of a futuristic cross between "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and "Snow Crash":

Basically some guy has to solve a series of puzzles based on 1980's trivia... in order to win a huge prize. The '80s trivia part was right up my alley, so it was a fun read.

I just bought Haruki Murakami's 1Q84, but I'm not sure I'll love it. I tend to love his shorter novels, but have found his longer novels to be too ambitious for the likes of me. But maybe I'm just not smart enough to appreciate them.
