Today we're making two changes related to deleting your own posts and comments:

* We're launching a new feature to let you delete the threads or comments on your own.

* We're expanding the number of deletions from three total, to three deletions per year. New bees will get the three deletions as soon as they join, and then earn one more every 4 months.

The deletion process will work as it does now, except the deletion process will be automated.  Instead of having to post to our help forum, a small "delete" link will appear next to all of your board posts. Here's how it will work:

* When do you delete an entire thread, the thread and all of its comments will disappear and links to the thread will disappear from the boards frontpage. If someone has the old URL of your thread and visits it, they will see the message, "Sorry, this topic was deleted by the original poster."

* When you delete a comment on the board, the message of your post will be replaced with text that says, "This comment has been deleted by the original poster."

You can see how many deletions you have total (as well as how many you've used so far), on your profile here:

* http://boards.hellobee.com/profile

(The number of deletions so far is private; other users can't see them when they visit your profile.)

We went through the help forum and counted up all the deletion requests so far, so everyone's numbers should be up to date. We made sure to leave out any deletion requests related to duplicate threads or posts, or technical issues on our end.

Let us know what you think... and also, just out of curiosity, how many deletions you have in total.
