Hi, I believe if you go into your profile and then edit your account, there is an area to "shut down" your account. I'm not certain if it is the same as deleting as I have never done it, but it is worth trying ... Sorry to see you go.

@lioness21: It's easy to miss the option. If you click your profile, next to your screen name there's an edit link. Click edit. That screen shows a blue box where you edit your info, but scroll all the way down past the blue. At the very bottom left hand corner of the blue box is a link in caps, that reads "SHUTDOWN ACCOUNT".
