1. The cycle # you got your BFP. #1. We knew we had to do IVF/ICSI before we were married. So we went straight for it.

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.). My husband has Cystic Fibrosis which for him means he doesn't has vas deferens so the sperms never get to the exit.

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) - IVF so injectibles

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) IVF with ICSI

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc) RE - we went straight to the one recommended by his CF doctors.

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? You can do this. There are many options to a baby and this is just one of them. Also, don't be afraid to change doctors. Get one that works for you.

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc) - OB-Gyn, RE, acupuncturist
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? You can get through this. Keep researching your options and bloodwork and treatments, and don't let the doctors shrug off your concerns. Try and enjoy BDing - to make it not such a chore. It will all be worth it when you have that LO in your arms.

ETA: I'm 37.5 weeks pregnant so I don't have my baby yet...but I just can't wait. And it's so special that he's been wanted for so long.

I didn't have trouble conceiving-I had trouble STAYING pregnant, and maybe somewhere here is in that boat. They still consider it infertility, though.

I was ultimately diagnosed with MTHFR and a short luteal phase (low progesterone) after having batteries of tests done (HSG, chromosome testing, blood tests, etc). My OB was very aggressive about not letting me continue without a diagnosis.

@blackbird: Just today I was diagnosed with MTHFR. What did your doc do to treat it?

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.): they technically called it unexplained infertility, but DH had a mild case of MI (volume only) and I had had a LEEP before so the cervix may have been preventing sperm from getting where they needed to.
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc): Clomid, Ovidrel Trigger Shot
4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc): HSG, IUI
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc): OB, Urologist, RE
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? It is SO hard to go through this, both for you and your DH, but do try really hard to have faith it will all work out in the end. Also stay really proactive about getting treatment. We knew something was wrong and despite it not being a year we sought out treatment. I am SO glad we did!

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)- I knew I had ovulation issues before I even met my husband. I began charting and was at the gyno's office in early April to address my issues. DH had infertility issues stemming from a varicocele. The gyno's office did not have satisfactory answers to my questions so off to the RE we went.
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) - we did IVF with ICSI so injectibles
4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) - IVF with ICSI
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc) - my fabulously wonderful RE. He is my baby-to-be's honorary grandfather!
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those still trying? - Going through our infertility battle was the scariest and loneliest journey. Make sure you have someone to talk to other than your SO. Don't keep everything bottled up. Trust that everything will work out because it will. I am now 17 weeks pregnant. Good luck!

ETA - my RE thought I was on the cusp of PCOS...but no official diagnosis for me.

1. The cycle # you got your BFP: I can't even remember...we had been trying for over 2 years.
2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.): Poor egg quality
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc): clomid, femara, injectibles...basically everything. You name it, I took it.
4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc): IVF and FET (it was our fourth IVF)
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc): OB and three different REs
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying?: If it doesn't work don't stay with the same doc...get a second opinion and a third opinion, if necessary. With each doc you'll get more info and you'll be better prepared when you need to make a decision. All REs are not created equal. Ask lots of questions and make sure your informed.

1. Cycle 20, IVF #1 was our successful BFP
2. MFI - morphology. I had some slightly low numbers re: ovarian reserve and spotted before every period but had no diagnosis.
3. IVF - Bravelle/Menopur
4. IVF w/ ICSI
5. RE
6. 1) I highly recommend single embryo transfer unless you have a very good reason to transfer more. Ask me if you'd like more info.
2) It seems like forever now. But after it happens (and it will) it will feel like a horrible blip on the radar.
3) Talk to people about your infertility. You'll find a lot of support that you didn't realize was out there because it's so common.

@mrs someone, my doc put me on a baby aspirin and Folgard twice a day. Your body has an inability to absorb folic acid when you have MTHFR so you have to take a TON of it or you are at increased likelihood for spina bifida. I will be on it for all of my childbearing years (it's cheap, like $5/month). The baby aspirin is for the clotting problem. If I had had another m/c, I would have gone onto something like Lovenox--the more heavy duty blood thinners, but the baby aspirin seems to be working just fine for me.

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.): diagnosed as unexplained. DH had borderline low motility so he took fertility blend for men (still taking it, actually!)
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc): Clomid plus Ovidrel shot to stimulate ovulation
4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) IUI
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc): My OBGYN for tests such as HSG, SA, and bloodwork. Saw a RE and acupuncturist (still seeing)
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? Do not lose hope! Keep faith in knowing that the age we live in is doing wonders. Also, the internet and Dr. Google can be good to look for meds, procedures, researching your doctor and clinic but it can also suck you in - step away from the computer from time to time! Enjoy your time with your DH and don't let TTC consume your life - go out and do things. I think this is what kept me sane. I had my work, we went out and did normal couple-y things. It is also ok to feel jealous and anxiety. Every month when AF showed up, I allowed myself time for these emotions to run through (wine helped!). Lastly, if you are pursuing the usual tests for yourself (HSG, bloodwork to test hormones, egg quality, etc), make sure that your partner gets a SA done. I understand that as women, we get the brunt of it all but it takes two to make a baby so it makes sense to get both of you tested.

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.) - My main problem was also with the baby sticking- I had 2 miscarriages during the TTC process before #3 stuck. This was due to a combination of PCOS and hypothyroid which caused very low natural progesterone. Luckily I was charting and knew that I had PCOS before we started TTC.

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) - I started taking progesterone supplementation once ovulation was confirmed by temp on 3DPO. Even with that my P was still low at 4 weeks so I was put on progesterone in oil injections which finally made my P level off/go up and is why ultimately my baby stuck. I'd also changed my diet to help with my progesterone issue (GF and dairy free- my hormone levels had improved even before I started medication).

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) - NA

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc) - OB, napro doctor

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? Do research and advocate for yourself! Since I knew that we'd have issues before we started trying i made sure that I was constantly on top of the process and if it wasn't for my constant what seemed like pestering at the time I'm not sure we would have a healthy 3 month old son now.

1: Trying for over 4.5 years. Had one m/c which was conceived naturally at about the 3 year mark. DH & I decided to do IVF & coincidentally I got a BFP later that day that ended in m/c. We then put off IVF a bit in hopes we'd conceive naturally again. Didn't happen.

2: Diagnosis: Unexplained. I did have a uterine septum which was fixed. Bunch of other tests/procedures which went well.

3: Meds prior to IVF - Clomid, Femara, Follistim injectables, Ovidrel, several IUI's & progesterone.
Meds for BFP IVF: BCP Pills, Lupron, Follistim, Menopur. Continued use of Progesterone & Vivelle estrogen patches.

4: Procedure for BFP: IVF w/ICSI.

5: RE

6: Don't give up. Be active in your treatment, ask questions, research, etc. Don't feel guilty about taking a step back from activities surrounding pregnant friends/newborns, etc. I had to stop going to a weekly church group when absolutely everyone was getting pregnant after like one month of hardly trying. And, I would only go to baby showers of close friends. I'm only 6 weeks so I'm still crossing my fingers all goes well.

I had 2 betas...760 @ 15dpet & 4531 @ 20dpet. An u/s is scheduled for next Wed. We transferred 2 high quality embryos so we're really hoping for twins! I've been incredibly nauseous since the beginning so I'm hoping it's all for a good cause.

4: N/A - I was scheduled for an HSG the month I got my BFP.

5: Certififed Nurse Midwife, who referred us to an OB/GYN who scheduled the HSG I didn't need.

6: Be willing to try anything, advocate for yourself but be willing to trust your doctor. I originally thought the cycle I got pregnant was a waste because we'd skipped clomid because I got referred onto the OB/GYN. Your body will sometimes surprise you when you least expect it. I believe I still had Clomid in my system (all of the side effects remained) but my CNM doesn't think so either way it worked out for us! Also I'm only 16 weeks.

1. I gave up counting but it was about 2.5 years.
2. PCOS and a tipped uterus. DH's tests were all fine
3. No medications. After 9 months of trying we tried 6 cycles of Clomid and trigger shots. Each month getting stronger doses. Then I had an HSG that came back saying everything was normal but I didn't do any treatments after that. A year later and one adoption and I was pregnant with twins
4. No procedures, it just happened all on its own
5. OB GYN and an Re
6. Decide how you want your treatment to go. I knew I didn't want an IUI or IVF so once it got to that point I was ready to stop. Advocate for yourself with your RE, let them know what you are thinking. Talk with friends and family, it's not an embarrassing thing and you can ind support from people you may not have expected. Hang in there and have hope! No matter what pain you feel during this time it will fade once you have your little one.

@sweetooth: Yay, happy graduation day! So glad things are going well for you
